Bale looks like he's gonna be good though I still kind of prefer Richard Dreyfus' turn in W. Adams looks fine as always. But I'm not feeling Rockwell as Dubya. Nor Carrell as Rumsfeld. Yes I know it's not a documentary. But while W. (2008) was a mediocre film, the cast was near pitch perfect.

This looks good, and a solid takedown / mock-up of the Bush administration. The makeup is fantastic, and the performances all seem spot-on. Super looking forward to this.

Liked this movie for the stellar cast and wouldn't be mad if Bale won for Best Actor. But, this didn't leave an after-credits impression on me like The Big Short did. The last 10-15 minutes of that movie paired with the end credits song really made me think about a lot of stuff. The direction is strong in spots here, kind of lackluster in others.
At the very least, this isn't a boring film. This will be a lot of different things to a lot of people.

hopefully it cures my depression as well. I’d have thought Mary Poppins Returns would do the trick?

i enjoyed the movie, but didnt love it. mostly due to the way it was edited, with constant moves between different timelines. also it was much more sombre/darker than Big Short which was a disappointment to me as I expected similar style. The movie has a lot of educational value, although not sure for which audience. Those that know nothing about Cheney will likely not be affected in the right way (Bale makes him a bit too likable, same with Carell as Rumsfeld) and those who know will likely not learn anything new.
BUT the cast is superb, the movie has a good atmosphere and is overall very good. just not great. 7/10 from me.
Bale does an outstanding job, as always. That dude is crazy talented.

I enjoyed the movie overall. I wasn't expecting Bale or Adams to play there characters which such sympathy. I also thought the politics were a little too one-sided yet soft on their targets. I'm more on the Conservative Libertarian side but I did learn much about the power Cheney wielded behind the scenes. Big Short was a better film but Vice had better performances. Also Sam Rockwell is just a joy to watch in anything even as Dubya. I liked that no one was reduced to caricature in the movie. Jesse Plemons was the secret MVP though.
