‘X-Men: First Class’ has rather cheap-looking production values for a big-budget film (yes, including lousy CGI), and it was still praised by critics. ‘Black Panther’ may not have the best CGI, but its other aspects of production values (like sets and costumes) are noted to be several times better. Trust me, it’s not hard to figure it out. Factually wrong. I have used this scene countless times to show what makes magneto a superior character to killmonger. compared to black panther, this does not look cheap www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_dQamaWmwkWhile I agree with you that First Class doesn't look cheap to him it may. Again this is a thing we call Opinions. I remember Roger Ebert saying the effects in X-Men 2000 looking cheap. That the X-Jet falling in the water at the end looking like a model. I couldn't disagree with him more. It was his opinion it looked cheap and like a model to me it didn't. I agree with your opinion that Magneto is a superior character to Killmonger. I disagree with your choice in video as "evidence." Even the actor says he basically tries to look mildly constipated when he uses his powers. If I were to try and back up my opinion on why I thought Magneto was a better character I would go with this. You see it's my opinion this is a better scene that shows the actor's range, the complexity of the character, and showcases his power. You see what I did there? I expressed my opinion without once calling it a fact.

I haven't seen the movie so I have no opinion of it but I definitely think that a movie gets a bit of a boost if it's attached to the MCU brand.
I wouldn't go as far as to say it was intended bias but yeah I think people generally like the movies more when they know it's part of the combined universe as opposed to just a one off.
Not that people don't like non MCU movies either, Logan and Wonder Woman were well liked last year and Deadpool 2 was well liked this year.

Better than Black Panther? Actually yeah it’s better than Black Panther. Thanks for the laugh, you should be a comedian.

Venom makes the worst MCU movie look like a Martin Scorsese picture. The whole thing carries the same stench of most mid to late 90's Hollywood line-of-thinking when adapting comic properties to the screen; blunders like Judge Dredd and Spawn. Tom Hardy just barely saves it, when he isn't trying to do impressions of Nicolas Cage or Shia LaBeouf.

Its pretty good i give it a 7/10. Third act is rushed but the buuld up is well constructed and humour works. And i agree its better than Black Panther

We all know if it had Marvel Studios on the front and a more kid friendly tone set in daylight the critics would score it fresh.

If it were a Marvel Studios production it would've been good and at least had a universe to tie in to. This movie just further cemented the notion that you can't do Venom first without Spider-Man.

So the end credit scene leaked on YouTube...
They really couldn't afford a better looking wig for Woody?

What is your obsession with everything needing to be a tie in with a shared cinematic universe? This film didnt need Spiderman. The origin of the symbiote was a good enough reimagining of its origin and bonding to Eddie.

The origin of the symbiote was a good enough reimagining of its origin and bonding to Eddie. Because it would've enriched its world building and lead to many more potential follow ups. No, it didn't need Spider-Man but it would've done more service to the source material had it.

Wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be but still really stupid and not at all a good representation of the character from the comics. Tom Hardy did well and Venom looked good for the most part but the rest of it was pretty bland and forgettable. You really can't make a proper Venom without the Spider-Man connection but oh well, I guess we'll never see that done properly in live action.
6/10
