Yeah, we know both were pretty lackluster trailers but if you had to choose, which did you like better and why?

Captain Marvel is crap. Shows the lead expressionless with boring commentary by Nick Fury. Fake women power image being shown.
Jean presents inner conflict for herself and between the Xmen. Lots more unanswered questions too like the mysterious Jessica Chastain character and the general direction of how the story is gonna unfold and end.
Even a 5 year old knows how Captain Marvel is gonna go. She gains powers, has a few fights whilst cracking jokes, beats up the villain in a CGI clobbetfest 3rd act and the films ends with an after credit scene teasing the next boring sequel

I personally feel that although the Captain Marvel trailer was nothing special, it at least wasn't simply a rehash of movies we've already seen before. Unlike Dark Phoenix. Thus it gets my vote.

That's how I'd feel as well, they both were very ordinary but at least I felt like I was seeing some new things with Captain Marvel.
Whereas with X-Men, it was just the same characters doing the same thing I feel we've seen before. Jean Grey losing control and becoming the Dark Phoenix again and Professor X and Magneto leading underlings on either side of a disagreement.
Hopefully the next trailers can be a bit more exciting.

The Captain Marvel trailer actually gets better with multiple viewings. Dark Phoenix looks super dull.

I'm not a fan of both trailers, but at least Captain Marvel showed some potential, which was lacking in Dark Phoenix.

Based on the trailers so far, Captain Marvel is the only one I'll be seeing in cinemas.
It's sad that after twenty years, the Guardians of the Galaxy movies are the closest we've gotten to an X-Men movie that isn't total shit.

Original Dark Phoenix trailer>Captain Marvel>Official Dark Phoenix trailer Skaathar justanaveragejoe kevin Word is they took out the interesting shots of the Dark Phoenix trailer they showed in Europe because it looked similar to Captain Marvel. Which is dumb considering Jean has been doing the flyling, energy aura, and glowing eyes years before that trailer in X2 and Apocalypse. Here is the original:

Captain Marvel.
The X-Men trailers always look good and they almost always disappoint me. I have a stronger relationship with the X-Men source material so they have further to fall. I let the MCU movies take the lead with their characters.
The first X-Men was fine but really lacking any kind of edge. X2 is better. X3 was forgetful if I recall, First Class is refreshing and Days of Future Past, which is a decent movie, pissed me off for undoing everything First Class made new by making it old again. Halle Berry's eyeing the exit harder than Ben Affleck in Justice League. Apocalypse did a couple of okay things and wasn't as good as Days of Future Past but Michael Fassbender's getting bored with Magneto and it shows.
X-Men I'm more of a fan of. I just have no expectations of Captain Marvel. Logan was solid but the rest I can take or leave. I don't think X2's aged very well despite being the best of the original 3. I do however think the X-Men universe's Quicksilver is better than the MCU Quicksilver.
I'm also not a fan of MCU's take on Spiderman. They're the characters I care about the most. Even after all the MCU movies I don't care about Captain America or Iron Man. I care about Chris Evan's Captain America. Robert Downy Jr.'s Iron Man, et cetera. When the movies are over, that's it for me, whereas I'll always care about the X-Men and Spiderman despite the movies. They left an impression on me that can't be matched, so I'll have no tears if X-Men isn't absorbed and redone with Disney's $.
