I remembered hearing about this a while ago. The movie is supposedly going to have some time travel involved.

I heard they cast an older actress to play Scott Lang's daughter so maybe this is why.

It's not the first time I read about this. An article I read some ways back described how the Avengers are now broken, each doing their own thing. Cap has built the Secret Avengers, working underground to fight off threats without the backing of the government. Thor is with his people, trying to start their life anew while fighting off discrimination from people of Earth. Tony is obsessed with finding a way to bring back the people that Thanos killed off. Can't remember what the rest were supposedly doing. Not sure how true it is though.

The movie is supposedly going to have some time travel involved. So basically Avengers 4 is going to copy the final episode of Star Trek Voyager, where several of the Voyager crew were killed before Voyager could make it back to Earth but Janeway travels back in time to save them all.

You do realize time travel was not invented by Star Trek?!?

Yet the comparisons between First Avenger/Wonder Woman, GOTG/Suicide Squad, Avengers/Justice League are there to be seen and are definite, yet that doesn't seem to matter. Hmmmmm

I heard they cast an older actress to play Scott Lang's daughter so maybe this is why. When I read that casting announcement, I figured there would be a time gap between both Avengers films.

I don't like this idea. I don't want it to take place so much longer afterwards. To me it would always feel like I'd want to know what happened during those five years. I hope its not true.
I'd rather maybe a few months at the most. If it were up to me it would only be a week or two. The surviving Avengers would not just sit around. They'd formulate a plan, they'd try something. Wakanda wouldn't just sit around without their king.
Tony would commandeer a spaceship, come back to Earth and they'd have a spaceship with which they go back into space, find Thanos, and kicks his ass. They could all go to Nivadellir and get bad ass weapons like Thor did. Look at how close Thor came to killing Thanos all alone! Imagine if they all had that level of weapon?! Imagine a Nivadelir level Iron Man suit?!?! WHAT!!!
It just wouldn't make sense that nothing happened until five years later. The Avengers would take action.

I think it should take place no more than few months at most after the 3rd movie.

I started thinking of DOFP where they travel back in time and at the end everyone is alive again. Although, quite possibly, this might be a load of shit. Hell, where would that leave Agents of SHIELD, for the few who still watch it?
