"Jon is the one to lead the fight. lol."
So how many times has Jon been rescued now after he did something dumb. Funny how many times it's by one of the ladies too. Ygritte, Melisandre, Sansa then Dany. If we follow the pattern, Ayra is gonna have to save his butt against the Night King and win that battle for him.

But Jon really is "the one to lead the fight". He is that self-despising fool ready to give his life for "something" dead men cannot have, valuing that warm little feeling of "doing right" more than anything he could trust himself to achieve. Jon is the volunteering soldier. That young man who is either too dumb to realise that war is real and kills people, himself included, or willing to give himself away because he doesn't know any better. Jon is of the 2nd kind, joined the Night's Watch "because there was no place for him in this world" (S1E04). You need that sort of fool to lead the run into slaughter. I guess Bran will "solve" the Night King, though.

Dont you all think the fact that dany is NOT shown sitting on the iron throne significant? its only in her background shes more shown with her dragon eggs when this trailer got released jons character was known as a bastard he was not as of importance Rob stark at the other hand would be considered more obvious choice to have him on the iron throne but yet writers chose jon remember we didnt know anything about him yet or who he was connected to the story ...

I think this is the only image we get of Robert on the Iron Throne. It's too bad they didn't feature him holding his infamous warhammer.

They actually do show her, but it goes so fast that it's hard to decipher the images. Right before Robert is shown on the throne, we get this image of Dany: Dany's image on the throne feels like it goes the quickest out of all of the images... It is very interesting that they show Jon on the throne. I don't think I've ever seen this trailer before, so it's kind of fun to look who they chose. Like you said, Jon wasn't even a contender for the Iron Throne at that point. They overlooked Robb and Joffrey (the latter is more surprising). Instead we get Jon, Dany, Robert, Ned, Cersei, Jaime, Tyrion, and Littlefinger shown on the Iron Throne.

It doesn't mean anything, no one but GRRM knew the end at the time. They left out Joffrey and Tommen because they knew were those who would actually get there.

C atelyn is there too.It doesn't mean anything, no one but GRRM knew the end at the time They left out Joffrey and Tommen because they knew were those who would actually get there. D&D were given an outline for the story by George R.R. Martin. They knew where everything was going as well. It was part of the stipulation of the showing getting made - they had to know what Martin had planned. I think jonsa has a point. Yes, Cat and Robert are there. However, Jon had no power at the start of the story and it's very interesting they included him over any of the Stark kids (especially Robb). Given that it was basically the "starter characters" that are shown in the trailer, why include Jon? He's a bastard and an outcast when the story begins. He has no part in the War of the Five Kings and isn't a contender for the throne. At least the other characters have a part in King's Landing or the war in general. Perhaps the trailer will add up to nothing, but it's fun to speculate considering we still have many more months to go until Thrones comes back. Let's just have some fun, Leo. Smile. Speculate with us.

It is fairly obvious from the first episodes on that Jon is going to be a main character. He gets his own storyline and his very special introduction as feeling outcast, like Tyrion and both show up on the throne. The reason for not putting the kids on it, including Joffrey, is that it would have given away that Robert wouldn't last long. They truly failed by not showing Viserys there instead of his sister, by the way. I don't know how much of an outline they had with regards to the end. We know they got the full details in 2013 only. And anyway, Sansa is the one who ends up there, at least in waiting position, cherished by her adoptive mother

Yay lol thanks shinnickneth also notice how they featured Jon with a full size grown up ghost !!i can't get that image out of my mind , Jon first season was more of a question mark it was all about Dany first seaosn I felt and friction between two families lannisters and Starks also inetersting the trailer ends with characters who have died now but started this fued with the families -little finger.

Every other close-up and long-shot in the trailer seems to depict this figure as Jon Snow. Every character given a seat on the throne is also shown in close-up (from Llittlefinger to Cat). Why wouldn't they show a close-up of Robb then? In this particular shot, it's Ghost that's shown sitting beside the figure on the throne. If it is Robb, why show him with Ghost instead of his own direwolf, Grey Wind? That doesn't make any sense either.

This is Robb sitting with Ghost, not Jon. Are you sure about that? No. It doesn't look much like Kit Harington but then it also doesn't look like the early Robb either. I don't know. All wolves look the same…
