what you describe is not true Satanism thoigh but a great example of abuse of a term and religionistic symbols. Sayam is traditionally described as a clearly malevolent entity, activelly trying to make people sin and cause harm, representing the dualistic opposition to love and good. unless you ate talking about laveys satanism which is really not a traditional (spanning across centuries) meaning of what satanism is and who satan is. and in sabrina they clearly do not worship laveys non supernatuual idea of “satan” but the traditional one (so far i am on episode 3) "True" Satanism is objective. Satanists will disagree with your definition. He's "traditionally described as clearly malevolent entity" through the religious lens, and tbh I don't see solid evidence for that either. Religion views God as an entity of love and good, but "good" is subjective. I, as an atheist, and many others (Satanists and otherwise) don't see God as good. I see him as being vindictive, insecure, petty as fuck, and pretty much everything wrong with the world. I admittedly see less of that in Satan. I think in Sabrina they make a good case for why they worship Satan and what their problems with God are. But I do not in any way agree that they're trying to portray Satan worship as a good thing (and for the record, I don't think it's a bad thing anymore than I think God worship is). This becomes more clear the further along you get, if you choose to keep watching. The fucked up rituals and practices and the corruption within the Church of the Night become more and more clear. ok agree to disagree? but i would be interested to know why you feel you know what mosts satanists are like or what they would say etc? also, where is mslo79 when he is needed. What do you think Satanism is and what does Satan represent?

Sure, agree to disagree. I've known quite a few Satanists and when I first started to lose my faith in God I spent a lot of time reading up on their beliefs and meeting with those with that belief. Well no, this was a few years after I lost my faith but whatever. I'm still very fascinated by it and spend a decent amount of time reading up on those beliefs. There are different sects, yes. And some of those guys are...pretty much what they've been portrayed as in pop culture historically. They're just not the norm and are disavowed by most Satanists. I'm not saying I'm an expert by any means, but it's not hard to get a gauge on what most believe. Kinda like it's not different to find out what anyone from any other faith believes.

Norapennypacker is pretty blind to think God (i.e. The Holy Trinity (Father/Son(Jesus Christ)/Holy Spirit)) is bad and satan is good when it's the exact opposite, obviously. you got to be really blind to think otherwise (or maybe they are just evil and oppose truth as that sounds hard to believe someone would willingly reject God given the alternative (i.e. hell). but some do it.). or look at it this way... God's the Creator, so He determines good and evil/right and wrong, satan is just a creature who rebelled against God and God is goodness/truth itself. but I think some people just have a twisted view of God as God is very forgiving (if one's trying to repent and avoid sin etc) as they say mercy is His greatest attribute. anything related to satan is obviously a bad thing. if your not for God, then your against Him. being against God is flat out stupid because you lose in the long term. period. we know those who reject God, hell is their final destination and the suffering in hell is beyond any suffering one can experience in this life and it's eternal. basically I generally heard that those who end up in hell, it's not that that God sent them there, it's that they rejected God (by rejecting Him(God) and living a life of sin etc) and He simply confirms their choice and once you remove God from things, which is what happens when one ends up in hell, ALL good ceases to exist in that person and nothing but extreme hate/suffering remains since all good comes from God. I just don't know why anyone would oppose God given the alternative is nothing but horrible in the most extreme sense (i.e. hell). it's like these kinds of people are very blind, or just evil. there just ain't much else you can say when someones so blind they say stuff like... pretty much all of that is backwards. 'good' is not subjective because God's ways are objectively good and satans ways are the exact opposite of that which is objectively bad based on His (God's) standards and God's standards are the only ones that really count in the big picture. but people like that basically reject the truth that humanity has a fallen nature (after the fall of Adam/Eve) and no longer see's things properly as stuff that appears appealing to us is not always good, but is sinful(bad). but since they reject this truth and the basic good vs evil thing... it's just that much more likely they will go the way of satan, which is 'non servium' (i.e. I will not serve). basically they put self above the Creator like satan did. their evidence that satan is bad is in the bible... "You belong to your father the devil and you willingly carry out your father’s desires. He [Satan] was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks in character, because he is a liar and the father of lies." - John 8:44 that's pretty clear cut. so the problem with the world is not God, but sin. the more sin in the world, the worse the world gets, the less of it the better it gets. many today are rejecting God more and more and that's not going to end well. I don't know if that was directed at me but it's pretty obvious what satan represents given the info I posted above (it's pretty common basic knowledge to a Christian that God is good and satan is bad. bad people go to hell, good people go to Heaven. pretty basic Christian stuff). in short, he(satan) represents, and is, evil itself. the exact opposite of God, therefore a perfect representation of evil. NOTE: to be clear... satan is not equal to God in any way as God is omnipotent, satan is not. or another way to look at it... everything that exists comes from God, He created it. hell, satan was actually created good (he had a pretty high position originally) but he willingly rejected God and became evil. I am sure you get the gist of it

I finally got around to watching the first episode. I recognize many locations from the Vancouver area. There were mentions of cannibalism and a slimey goat-headed demon, so I'm in for the long haul.

Finished the whole season, it was pretty great, reaching Buffy-level great. Heck, Buffy season one wasn't this good.

Just started reading the comic. Is the t.v. series also set in the 1960's?

All in all i enjoyed it, i think season 1 was good but i had expected it to be darker than what it was.
