Although I am not seeing it that much this year, AMC usually shows most of the Halloween movies leading up to the night itself. They would show them over and over. So naturally, activity on the boards of the various movies in the franchise would pick up. If I remember correctly, parts four and five were the most active one. We would talk about our favorite ones in the franchise, the timelines – some stubborn ass holes would insist they are all connected – how much everyone hated Tina,ah, good times. I remember on Halloween night or the next day someone would post a "see you all next year" type of message.
I actually like the fourth one a lot more than I used to. It's not a great movie or anything, but it's not all that bad for slasher flick.
I miss that. I definitely don't engage in conversations about movies and TV shows as much anymore.

I used to hang out on the board of the original movie most of the time, but I did venture to Halloween II every once in a while.
On the original we mostly had people who would post about how they thought Bob was serious when he made the joke about ripping Lindsey's clothes off. Or people would post asking how Myers could drive or asking what Laurie said to Loomis after he shot Myers, or about the alarm at the hardware store going off all day. For the most part everyone there was pretty friendly. We did have a few there that wasn't. Namely a pest who was an opinion Nazi who thought he was some sort of deity on all things Halloween and would rant and rave like a child when someone dared to challenge him. I do miss the good people and conversations we had though.

Resurrection was actually the movie I found the imdb boards through. And though I didn't post much after that, the Halloween II (1981) board was one of the greatest I'd ever seen. That "Harold, do you want mayonnaise on your sandwich?" thread had me crying with laughter. Too bad it's not archived anywhere (that I know if).

Anyone remember the frequent poster CJ? Some were annoyed by him. But I found him entertaining most of the time.
I had fun on the old "Halloween" boards. The Harold & his Sandwich thread was classic. Or the one about Rachel's Caloric intake having nothing but a Bagel for Breakfast.

I remember posters lamenting about it at least a year or two before the forums came to an end on IMDb. But several posters did attempt to recreate it with a few other similar threads.

How did Michael know how to drive?
I'm pretty sure they don't teach that at high security psychiatric facilities.

I poked around several boards. I love most of the Halloween films tho. The first two are gems in my collection of horror. I also have Zombies Halloween which I’m a fan of while Michael is a kid, even if it ruins his mythos. Part 4 was a solid one in my memory thanks to a Danielle Harris solid child acting. 3, 5, and 6 are where things get hazy. I won’t say I dislike them just that I’ve hardly watched them when compared to the first 2. H20 is decent...Resurrection is bad...and Zombies Halloween 2 was hot garbage that I never intend to watch again.
I guess I don’t love most of them in hindsight...lol

How did Michael know how to drive? I'm pretty sure they don't teach that at high security psychiatric facilities. Isn't driving pretty easy? I've never understood that concern. Unless the car had a manual transmission, I'd think driving is pretty easy to figure out. We can presume he had been taken to court dates and such, so it doesn't seem too far of a stretch to figure out that you put the key in a hole, put it in drive, press the pedal on the right, and stay between the lines. I'd have loved a scene in the new one have Michael confused about the car not having a keyed transmission. Like maybe the car wouldn't start until the father, whom we thought was dead, ran up to the window, thus putting the key fob in proximity to start the vehicle. That could have been fun.

That little turd was an insufferable pest and ruin any and every good discussion. However I would have love to seen his reaction to his precious Halloween II being scrapped from the new timeline/canon.

The new guy that they got for H2018 was pretty good as well.
