Written in 1968, it is a sci-fi novel about the year 2010. The human population is seven billion people, they have genetic engineering of people and marijuana, with a supercomputer called Shalmaniser that dubs your face into travelogues. It has a couple of dozen plot lines running through it including Donald Hogan, a bookworm who is "eptified" to become an assassin. Aside from being an epic novel, it predicts a lot of our current problems, including the random spree killers who plague American society. It is probably out of print, but worth the read if you have the time.

I do believe it won a Hugo Award for best sci fi novel. I own a paperback copy.

It's in my 'to be read' list, but I haven't gotten to it yet. Looking forward to it.
