A stranger in a strange land named his son Gershom.
Exodus 2 21 And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter. 22 And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.
A Stranger in a Strange Land is a also a renowned science fiction novel by Robert A. Heinlein
It is also the title of different songs by Iron Maiden and Leon Russell.
The Bible passage came to mind with the news about Trump's struggles with secure borders. For what little they're worth, my thoughts on that are Trump has the authority to do something like what he did. I don't agree that it's a good idea at all, but I'm not the authority at the moment. He might have to change the wording of his order if courts have their way. They are after all the final authority.
A stranger in a strange land is also the way I feel from time to time, but I believe it's in a healthy way mostly. I don't think I'm unfriendly, perhaps not to a fault anyway.

The times have changed, haven't they? There was a time we used to trust a stranger. Back in the old stories and folk tales we see strangers being respected and given hospitality. Now a days people fear strangers. I remember once I left Kmart with a big box containing pillows and a bed cover. I couldn't carry it all the way back to home. It was dark and I didn't have mobile phone with me. I asked a few people to give me ride home but nobody dared to trust a stranger. Remember asking the same some 15 years back when I was a kid. People were willing to do so then.

I don't understand what the extract is supposed to mean. The stranger in a strange land from the Bible was Moses. He later came to be a leader of the Hebrews and gave them a sort of "national identity" as keepers of the codified law. That identity however has been problematic throughout history. He did not live to enter the actual plot of "land" his people acquired. The Jewish state as a secular world entity was abandoned for a long time. In 1948 when it was reconsidered many Jews were opposed to the idea because the notion of a spiritual land they developed was not consistent with a secular state power. The novel and the songs deal more or less loosely with that strain between the spirit and the state.
