My response to that much snow is "fuck you". Not to anyone in particular. Just in general. Fuck you.

Yep. Personal Experience... When I was a kid growing up at Minot AFB, ND... We had some good snowfalls... One year... the neighbor's car was completely covered in their driveway... & the neighbor's kids were able to climb up onto their roof, and jumped off into the snow... Just about ever year, there was a huge snow drift that came up to my bedroom window (Half of the "basement" was above ground)... So about an 8FT to 10 FT drift... Here's another great photo for your collection...  "40 FT Of Snow" While the specific measurements may be in question... the photo IS real... |

Coincidentally, there is a Jamestown about thirty minutes drive from where I live.
But I doubt they're ever seen snow, let alone that much.

By COLD, I mean really cold .. not those relatively warm "nearing the freezing mark" chilly days. Yeah, when My Dad was stationed at Patrick AFB, FL during my High School Years... He worked with a civilian contractor that was raised in FL... One year, around the holidays, we had a few days where it was just cold enough that a few puddles in the area, including one on our driveway, Froze! This Co-worker came in to work with a heavy winter parka, snow pants, boots, gloves, hat, scarf... You Know, "The Works"... Meanwhile, My Dad, who was used to Ohio, Nebraska, & ND Winters, just thought it was just odd, and just wore a thicker jacket... Funny story... My Dad kept his Slow Blower from when he was stationed up in North Dakota, during the four years we lived in Florida, and one year he took it to a local maintenance center for a tune up. It made the front page of their little news paper!... He used to tell the neighbors that, it was his "Shelling Machine" for digging up Sea Shells! |
