Just watched this the other night on HBO on Demand. Really wanted to like it but felt it was such a miss. Think the comedy and the gore could have gone much further.

This was a fun movie, nothing too high-brow, but just simple fun. I have avoided chicken nuggets ever since...

The comedy heavily outweighed the horror/suspense, but that's fine with me because it was funny. The cast was great. I never would of thought of Rainn Wilson for the role of macho gym teacher still reliving his glory days, but he stole the movie.
Also stars Elijah Wood, Jack McBrayer, Allison Pill, Nasim uh something, and Leigh Whannel from Saw. Oh and the fat guy from Lost and Becker as a psychedelic shroom eating crossing guard.
I thought Whannel's Doug was funny too. The way we see him look over at Clint and Julie talking away, then we see the book he is reading: HOW TO HAVE NORMAL CONVERSATIONS.
Then he runs over and uses the line he read about weather chitchat.
I thought it was gross enough if not gory enough. Like another poster said, it put me off chicken nuggets for awhile. That brownish green goo oozing out of it. But all the zombie attacks were scratches instead of bites.
There is even an after credits scene with the martial arts master/janitor.
Once they made it out of the school it felt surreal. I just didn't expect that they would. It had a different feel to it after that and made it feel not so much like a Dto DVD movie. Did this get ant kind of wide release in theaters?
I think I'll rate it a 6.

A poster like that does not inspire confidence.
