Who will personate the Queen of the underlings of England?
Saoirse Ronan as Mary, Queen of English underlings Margot Robbie as Queen Elizabeth I, Mary, Queen of English underlings' cousin and Queen of England and Ireland
I guess both movies then.

Not sure if we'd get QoS though. They might just run The Grinch for another weekend.

I plan on seeing Mary Poppins. As for the other Mary, I'm on the fence about it. The story has been told so many times with little regard to historical accuracy, no surprise. If I miss this one, I can wait for the dvd with no regrets.

Which one are you more likely to watch at your local theater? Bullshit! No one's going to watch MQoS over MPR. MPR is going to do gangbusters!

I recall watching Mary Poppins as a child and liking the songs, but I don't have any great sentimental attachment to it these days. Not sure if I would see it in a theater. 'Mary Queen of Scots' seems like the kind of period drama that would interest me, even if it promises to be spectacularly inaccurate as to history, and Saoirse Ronan is always fun to watch.

M Q of S has been done to death and I have only ever watched the end of one version with Helen Mirren as Elizabeth I, when Mary gets her head chopped off and the executioner was so useless, he had to whack her twice. It was a sick and disturbing scene and I don't get why they think we need another version of this story. Is this one for the "me too" movement with feminist undertones or something? YES! It bugged me to no end. but it wasnt just about feminism. it was a propaganda piece. 1. black people in the British court at that time are completely unbelievable as ambassadors or members of the privy counsel. the privy counsel along with Elizabeth were actually pretty racist. but even regardless of that, the sheer number of PoC in this movie was crazy FOR BRITAIN AT THAT TIME. 2. same goes for asian people. chinese people werent even in England for like a century more 3. or transgender/crossdressers/gay openly plus what are the odds that the court had all of these minorities together in what seemed a small team? 4. girl power didnt exist then or not the way it does now but thats the least of the movies problem 5. the meeting of the two queens didnt happen. i dont mind Hermiona being black. After all, JK Rowling herself said she never specified her race. And why couldnt there be a smart black girl in current London? No problem there. But during Elizabeths time, from all the info we have, black people were extreme rarity and if at all present at court it would be servants or slaves or at best entertainers. the director say she wanted to do color blind casting. why not. and its not like the actors were bad, they weren't. but if we pretend its a historical piece why lie this way? I understand PoC were and perhaps still are chronically under represented in movies and I get that many many times, for decades, white people were cast as PoC, and it was/is wrong. but is this really the solution, to do it back and to do so with historical movies that otherwise give away the feeling of accuracy? i enjoy good acting regardless of what the ethnicity of the actor is. i just wonder if this is the right direction, to alter history in what seems like a serious movie. but even without these issues the movie was just not very good.

i heard it sucked, plus those trailers didn't do that any favors at all. I have a feeling The Favorite and Vice will end up my two favorites as well.
