I made a thread for season 1 a while ago and then I totally forgot about it for some reason . However, slowly but surely April is coming closer. So let's move on to the next season: season 2. Here's some data for season 2 and a list of the episodes in case you forgot them: Episode | IMDb rating | Rotten Tom avg | Viewer numbers (millions) | The North Remembers | 8.9 | 8.5 | 3.86 | The Night Lands | 8.6 | 8.5 | 3.76 | What Is Dead May Never Die | 8.9 | 8.5 | 3.77 | Garden of Bones | 8.9 | 8.5 | 3.65 | The Ghost of Harrenhal | 8.9 | 8.6 | 3.90 | The Old Gods and the New | 9.1 | 9.3 | 3.88 | A Man Without Honor | 9.0 | 8.9 | 3.69 | The Prince of Winterfell | 8.9 | 7.3 | 3.86 | Blackwater | 9.7 | 9.3 | 3.38 | Valar Morghulis | 9.4 | 8.6 | 4.20 | AVG | 9.03 | 8.60 | 3.80 |
What did you think of season 2 in general? What where your favorite moments/episodes/characters/plot twists and what were your least favorite ones? What would you have changed? This is just a general discussion of everything relating to season 2, so say what you want .

Season 2 remained my favourite, mostly for the characters and indoor conversations. It was the season in which characters were formed further and given depth, going beyond the first impression level they had left in S1.
Cersei was struggling with seemingly hopeless situations and dilemmas, Daenerys was growing into a leader without yet being a monster, Jaime was given his first great monologue, Jon Snow was confronted with the apparent futility of his vocation, Robb was made to face the truth and complications of his endeavour, Sansa was slowly growing up, Theon was exploding in a spectacular manner, Tyrion was walking on the edge of a razor, Tywin was developed through his conversations with Arya.
Varys was varyssing around, tying Tyrion into his web of soft wisdom and fake appreciation, providing Cersei with the wrong whore so he could hire her better afterwards while protecting his own spy on Tyrion.
I disliked the fantasy crap with "shadow babies" and warlock magic, or the silly super-assassin business of Jaqen H'ghar but the enigma around Craster was interesting. Daenerys should have opened a dragon powered grill in Qarth and stayed there. I started disliking her in S3.
Blackwater was the best episode of the whole series. I never felt so engaged watching anything fictional.

Once again great acting and production. They had a bit extra in the budget this time around, and it really pays off with the Blackwater episode.
The storyline begins to deviate a lot more from the books than season 1 did. All to the shows detriment I'm afraid. 'A Clash of Kings' is a fair bit longer than 'A Game of Thrones,' so I'm not sure why they didn't want to add an extra couple of episodes to help each character arc breathe a little more. Theon, Arya, Bran, Catelyn and Sansa all feel the effect of the limited screen time here. Their storylines all feel rushed and wanting more. On the other hand Daenerys gets too much screen time. Her Qarth story is the worst part of the season, and a real butchering of the superb, succinct plot in the books.
The best parts are probably Tyrion's story. After Sean Bean's departure Dinklage really takes the reigns as the star of the show, and when you've got such a tremendous actor and great character of course push him to the centre. Jon's storyline is also pretty solid, really capitalising on the excellent chemistry between Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie.
Overall a solid season of television, but perhaps merely an ok adaption of 'A Clash of Kings.' Either way its definitely a step down from season 1.
