SO glad you asked, darlink!
I am SO excited as this is the first year since grandchildren, that I will be having a 'Growdieup' midday Christmas lunch time 'dinner'.
In case you think I am a mean Grandma, the kids and their Growdie ups are coming for feasting on Christmas Eve ( we are going a bit European) and they will help me light candles and have presents and a seafood banquet/BBQ and sing around the piano WITH some lovely extended family this year.
I have two single female cousins and we ALL used to have Xmas when we were kids only a block from where I now live right beside the beach, so I have invited them to come and stay for a few days over Xmas and relive our pas childhood lives together.
THEY love to cook and so do I so I am making
Seasonal tropical fruit and Greek yoghurt for breakfast after our early morning Pacific Ocean swim.
Champagne from 12.00 onwards with cheese and nuts as we prepare the feast for Xmas lunch.
THEY are glazing a ham. I am stuffing and cooking the turkey with my world famous turkey stuffing recipe.
TOGETHER we will prepare wat Americans call the sides which are basically roasted potatoes, TWO kinds of sweet potato, pumpkin, parsnip and onion. There will also be green beans and a tomato pie bread sauce and THE best turkey gravy made by my daughter. It will be served with cranberry sauce and Dion mustard.
Afters will be fresh fruit salad, Christmas pudding with brandy hard sauce and home made custard ( we have decided NOT to have a pavlova this year as it will be the night before for the grandkids) with matching wines for each course.
Christmas evening will have turkey stuffing cranberry sauce and gravy sandwiches.
