John Campea (from Collider) said that he's heard from three different people "connected" to the situation over at WB that Affleck wants out. Campea has been majorly wrong before, but this lines up with what other reporters (like Mark Hughes from Forbes) have heard as well.
Rumor has it that he's technically under contract to appear in the Batman solo movie, but that he'll completely walk away from WB after that if they don't let him out of his contract (meaning that he might not even make any more movies for WB if they burn that bridge).
Now that the movie has a new director in Matt Reeves (though that's still not CONFIRMED yet), I'm willing to bet money that we'll eventually hear that they want to take the story in a new direction (with a younger Batman played by Armie Hammer or something). I think they'll hold off on reporting this until after JL comes out though.
All I'm saying is that we shouldn't be surprised if and when the day comes that we hear that Affleck is done with DC altogether.

i'm assuming he's disappointed with the reception of BvS, not sure about the quality since he seemed pretty proud of it when it was still the original cut, but he may be disappointed with SS, and maybe even WW and JL, then we add in his observing how much WB stuck their fingers into the films, and i'm assuming they're also doing a major overhaul with the JLU plans to the point where it isn't where he wanted or wants to go.
honestly the only thing that will keep him on board is if either WW and JL do gangbusters, or if WB offers him a buttload of money and promises him 2-3 directorial projects of his choice.

I think that would be bad move for Affleck. He should do at least one solo flick before he gives up completely.

And Justice League is his third movie under that contract right? How would that have worked when JL was planned as two movie shoot up until BvS was released? Was the contract renegotiated?

I wonder if Suicide Squad can be counted as one of the three films? (BvS:DoJ, Suicide Squad, Justice League) I mean, if he is wanting desperately to quit DC.

Any confirmation of sources that he has to complete three feature films to fulfill the contract or is that just general speculation since studios when starting a franchise get actors to sign three picture/multiple picture contracts?

Even if he's under contract, he can still get out of it. If WB wants to keep him in their "stable" of directors, then they might have to let him walk.

I think it's actually been leaked through sources, prior to this current situation

But does he really want to? Does anyone know for sure? One person (Justin Kroll from Variety) has suggested that he's happy with the script. However, he didn't run it as a story, so that suggests that he isn't confident enough in the scoop to put his reputation on the line. Pretty much everyone else (John Campea, Mark Hughes, and Bill Ramey, for example) has suggested that Affleck wants out.

I'd rather WB make a deal with Affleck that if he'll do cameos in other DCEU films to free him up for his own projects, then they'll just scrap "The Batman"
He wouldn't have to have a solo film, and he wouldn't have to stay in great shape. He could just appear in the muscle suit as Batman.

For Affleck I'm sure thatd be a plus, but for the DCEU, a solo Batman film is the next best thing to JL. It would be bonkers to skip it.

So, how should DC handle this if it is true? Recast and just pretend everything is the same?

The difficult thing about rebooting a "cinematic universe" though, is that what if one of the other movies turn out to be successful?

If Affleck doesn't start FILMING The Batman before JL comes out, I think it'll be pretty clear that he's done.

Umberto Gonzalez (one of the DCEU's biggest defenders) says he's hearing the same thing as Campea.
