The representative of the home country (UAE) beat the African champions from Tunisia to advance to the semi-finals against River Plate, the South American champions. The Asian champions, Kashima Antlers from Japan, beat the CONCACAF champions from Mexico and will have the unenviable task of trying to stop Real Madrid from reaching another final.
Semifinals in the middle of the week, final next weekend.

While it would've been spectacular if Toronto FC had won its CL final, their 2018 team would've been slaughtered. Didn't even make the MLS playoffs.

Just heard River Plate got beat by a mickey mouse team. Serves them right, after the shameful behaviour of their fans in the Libertadores final. If only Kashima Antlers can hold Real Madrid (which, considering Madrid's current form shouldn't be impossible), we would have a very interesting result in what may very well be the last Club World Cup in its present incarnation.

Gareth Bale scores a hat-trick and puts Real Madrid in their third consecutive Club World Cup final. 3-1 for Madrid against the Asian champions Kashima Antlers from Japan.

Real Madrid beats the Al Ain from the UAE 4x1 to claim their seventh world title, third in a row. The Champions League is as much the de facto Club World Cup as the World Series or the super bowl is in Baseball or american egghand respectively. Arrogant and Ignorant by the fact that these are continental and not global competitions, rightfully by the fact that these leagues combine the teams which really matter in the particular sports. In other word: this competition is next to pointless.
