Back to the Lane today, Shire play Stockwood Green in their pre-Christmas game. A win for Shire, and a loss for Fry Club (yes the chocolate factory) away to Stockwood Wanderers, would see Shirehampton take the coveted Christmas number 1 spot in the League... Current top of the table below...

Are you allowed to bring alcohol into non-league grounds?
Don't go overboard!

Are you allowed to bring alcohol into non-league grounds Depends on the ground... Shire ground is pretty much a field with a pitch in it, most people drink cans of cider whilst watching. Clubs with bars pitchside generally prefer you buy yer pints in their bar, which is fair enough, it's their only income. The Shire clubhouse is 100m down the road from the pitch, they don't open the bar until the game finishes. They can charge up to £2 entry for spectators at this level... The only team that does is Bridgewater. Some clubs will come round with a bucket for voluntary donations from supporters at half time.

Great fightback from a spirited Shire to win 3-1.
And... Fry Club's game was postponed due to waterlogged pitch.
Which means... Shire top the table🎅

Shirehampton FC's Scott Bamford also heads the Somerset County League player stats table, having scored an amazing 24 goals in 14 appearances so far this season.
