I know I'm biased, but it has to be Matt Nagy. The last 5 years, since 2013, the Bears went 8-8, 5-11, 6-10, 3-13, and 5-11 again. They have their first winning season since 2012, most wins since 2010, (and most since 2006 if they win the last game of the season), and clinched their first playoff berth since 2010. Andy Reid and Sean McVay have done good jobs, but the turnaround isn't anywhere near as impressive as the Bears.
Thoughts?

I think it's clearly between the two suggested above and I'm okay with either of them winning it. I think Executive of the year goes to either the Bears GM or the Colts GM too.
The narrative is there for either Nagy or Reich to win. For Nagy the Bears have been bad for a long time and he's got an ultimately unproven QB and was in a division with (pre season) perceived powerhouses in Minnesota and Green Bay.
For Reich he walked into a job where he wasn't the original hire. Is coaching with a staff that Josh McDaniels hired and not himself. He had no guarantees that Andrew Luck would play football again.
However if I am voting, I'd vote for Nagy simply because he won his division and got double digit wins.

I would laugh if somehow Jason Garrett won it though.

Nagy did a fine job obviously, and has moved along the Bears ahead of schedule, but any offensive mind would've been a better fit for their squad than John Fox, and the success of the team is largely down to the addition of Khalil Mack and Vic Fangio's defensive scheme. Nobody's talking about how Nagy has worked wonders with Mitch Trubisky, because... well, he hasn't. His main competitors in the Packers and Vikings also underperformed this year. Reich came into a job with his assistants already hired by Josh McDaniels, and has taken a squad that people were calling among the worst in the league to a winning record. This is in a division where the Texans and Titans both did better than anyone expected. Luck's having his best season in years and years. Reich's scheme is making people call him the real brains behind that 2017 Eagles season. The offensive line is better than its been for about a decade. The Colts have lost 1 game since starting the season 1-5. The price is Reich.

Reich's scheme is making people call him the real brains behind that 2017 Eagles season. The offensive line is better than its been for about a decade. The Colts have lost 1 game since starting the season 1-5. The price is Reich. Like I said, it's down to those two. With Reich he still has Andrew Luck who came back from possibly never playing again. Before Reich he was still a top level QB. Can't really say Luck playing well is attributed to Reich because he was really damn good long before Reich. The biggest deal with the Colts I think is there O-Line which was done very well putting them together by the GM in drafting. Trubisky has also looked a lot better this year than he did last year. How much of that is Nagy? Idk, but some of it has to be. Trubisky was looking like a bust after his rookie year and in comes Nagy and he's been competent to good. Luck was good long before Reich was there so I can't really attribute anything Reich has done this year to Luck's success. It all came down to Luck's health not an offensive scheme. I also don't see where the Titans did better than anyone expected. They were a playoff team last year and this year I don't think anyone was really down on them more so than a 7-9, 8-8, or maybe 9-7 level team. Both of you are bias towards your respected teams. I have zero skin in this fight. As I said, both guys have a narrative to win the award which matters. Reich's biggest narrative is that he is coaching a team that he didn't hire the staff for. Nagy's is that he brought Trubisky to respectability and won the NFC North from perceived power houses in Minnesota and Green Bay. Both teams had great jobs done by the GM's to help them achieve what they have. Looking at the stats the Colts have only scored 3 more points than the Bears have. Now that includes some Bears defensive scores but that still shows that Nagy is bringing something to that team offensively. That's also starting 2 games with Chase Daniel. I don't expect to change your opinion. I'm just saying I'd currently vote for Nagy simply because he won his division that not many people thought he would do and has gotten more wins than Reich and the Colts. If Reich wins, I'd be perfectly fine with it and it would be well deserved. If Reich and the Colts take the division from the Texans then maybe I change my mind.

I think it's an easier vote than you all might think. If the Colts beat the Titans and make the playoffs after the 1-5 start then Reich deserves it. If not, then Nagy deserves it.

Has any coach had a bigger effect than Hue Jackson? Brown go 5-2 after he’s fired, Bengals go 1-6 after hiring him.
