First, to be clear... We are not necessarily talking about: Popcorn, M&Ms, Milk Duds, Twizzlers, ETC... You know, those snacks at the movie theater that you buy, just before you watch a brand new movie... "Per Se".No... I'm talking about... When you are watching a TV Show or Movie, and a character starts chowing down on some kind of food... That either... makes you hungry for that food too... or... You have never had it, and you were curious to give it a try, and discovered that you like it... For EXAMPLE: One of my favorite movies is: "My Cousin Vinny" (1992) , starring: Joe Pesci (Vincent LaGuardia "Vinny" Gambini) & Marisa Tomei (Mona Lisa Vito)... In the movie, Vinny & Mona, get served a Southern style breakfast for the first time, and it comes with a side of Grits, which they have never had before: They immediately ask the Cook many questions about Grits, and Vinny discovers that he likes them. Interestingly, Vinny, later ends up using his knowledge of grits as part of his defense for his clients, in a very humorous way... ( But, more on that, is for another discussion! ) Anyway... While, I had been served Grits, many times before I ever saw the movie... I do like to have a bowl of instant Grits while I watch the film, or shortly afterwards... And when I eat them at other times, I can't help but think of the movie... Yes, I know, I should be ashamed of myself for making INSTANT Grits, but, I am not going to spend 20 minutes boiling them! LOL! So, What are some of your favorite foods, that you like to eat, while your favorite characters eat them, or afterwards?

In "The Green Mile" (1999) , William "Wild Bill" Wharton is not happy, when John Coffey doesn't share his corn bread with him... " All I wanted me was a little corn bread, you motherfuckers! All I wanted me was a little corn bread!" I love corn bread... and when I see the movie, it makes me want to have some too... When I see cornbread, I'm reminded of the film, and I usually think: " All I wanted me was a little corn bread..." LOL! There is also a scene where William "Wild Bill" Wharton shoves a Moon Pie into his mouth, and then blows it out onto Brutus "Brutal" Howell... While I am not a fan of Moon Pies... I think the scene was hilarious.

Been in love with [good] Coffee Ice Cream since I saw Jaws way back when. BUT i think my exploration of it was a possibly a mistake. When the Brody lad is in hospital after the shark in the bay incident, his Mum Ellen says would he like anything...maybe Ice Cream.... to which he replies enthusiastically 'Coffee.' So my younger brain thought he mean't [which he may have done] Coffee flavoured Ice cream. Anyhows....loved it ever since.
Also I got to investigate and enjoy Chilli Chocolate after seeing the delightful film CHOCOLAT....... and as some one else has mentioned here, The Green Mile made me try cornbread for the first time in my life.
When i was a kid, a hot dog in England was always smashing...made with big long rolls and gorgeous Lincolnshire or Walls pork sausages...after many years of watching American cops like James Woods or whoever eating American hot dogs smeared in mustard and ketchup in New York etc from a street vendor bl0ke...one wanted to obviously try one. The initial horror of trying one has never left me although I quite like one now . It was a bloody, wimpy frankfurteR , which is a completely different animal to a sausage. big let-down, mammoth disappointment and quite a shock. Now I know they ARE a different species, I dont mind them so much, and indeed occasionally crave one.
Black coffee, and Cherry Pie and doughnuts is a must with Twin Peaks dvd nights, a Hostess Twinkie or two, which I've always loved [as long as out of fridge] is fab with a Zombieland viewing, and chopsticks and Rice etc with a Bruce Lee film...but i do hate people chowing down in a cinema as if they've come out to eat and disturb anyone else and the film is coincidental. Custodial offence.

A cupa cupa cupa cake from Steel Magnolias. I've made a similar fruit cocktail cake and it's delicious!

I'm on a restricted diet for health reasons, but whenever I watch any of the old Ninja Turtles movies from the early 90s, they always put me in the mood for pizza - which I haven't eaten in many years.

Not only does that steak look delicious, the character waxes poetically about it before finally eating it. Also, characters eating pizza always get me wanting pizza. Do the Right Thing and Home Alone come to mind, especially the second one where that pizza is just f*ckin steaming.

After a hard day of fighting the Goa'uld, The Ori, & the Wraith... STARGATE Command personnel love to eat Blue Jello... If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me! And when I was finally able to track some down, "Snack Pack : Juicy Gels : Berry Blue", at Walmart... ...I discovered it really is quite tasty! Especially, if you add some whipped cream on top!

When it looked like the wedding was off, for Worf & Jadzia, on Star Trek DS9, Bashir & O'Brien gave up on their ceremonial fasting, and went straight to Quark's to order: One steak with mushrooms.
Baked potato and sour cream.
One double Altair sandwich, no mustard.
Two bowls of linguini.
Bajoran shrimp with extra cheese.
One loaf of mapa bread.
and kava juice. Not sure what the outer space versions, LIKE: Bajoran Shrimp, taste like... But it still all sounds tasty, and simply makes me hungry.
