Anna Karina passed? Man, that's depressing. I've enjoyed her work over the past few years as more French films have been released in Region "A" on Blu-ray.

Nicky Henson - Actor Actor Nicky Henson, who appeared in TV shows including Fawlty Towers, EastEnders and Downton Abbey, has died at the age of 74. Henson starred in Fawlty Towers as Mr Johnson, a guest who got into trouble with John Cleese's Basil Fawlty after trying to sneak a woman into his room. A statement from the actor's family said: "Nicky Henson has died after a long disagreement with cancer." He was first diagnosed with the disease almost 20 years ago. He told the PA news agency last year: "For the last 18 years, I've regarded myself as 'being in extra time', which I never expected to have, so I'm very thankful for it." www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-50807031

Filmmaker and film theorist Peter Wollen has died aged 81.
Thanks, Mr. Wollen.
"I feel very strongly that feminism and the progressive principles that seemed to have vanished in the intermediate decade have now come back very strongly. Young people have a great sense of political commitment, not necessarily with the utopianism we had at that time. People are now looking back on that period without necessarily making direct parallels, finding it inspiring but not necessarily thinking it has to be the same now."
