R.I.P.
I fondly recall the scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, featuring him dancing and singing a rather demeaning song about Sir Robin the-not-so-brave-as Sir Lancelot (Eric Idle).

It's with great personal sadness that I report the loss of director and teacher, Jack Garfein, who passed away on December 30 at the age of 89. He was born in Czechoslovakia in 1930, and as a young Jew was sent to concentration camps during World War II, including Auschwitz. He was the only member of his family to survive the holocaust.
After the war, he immigrated to America and began working in the theatre. At the age of 23 he directed his first play on Broadway, End as a Man. Three years later he directed the screen version of that play under the title, The Strange One (1957). His next film was Something Wild (1961), starring his wife at the time, Carroll Baker.
He then returned to his roots in the theatre, producing and directing plays and becoming a renowned acting and directing teacher. He founded and ran the Actors Studio West in Hollywood, and later founded The Actors and Directors Lab in Los Angeles and the Jack Garfein Studio in Paris. His legacy in that regard is enormous, and he will be remembered forever by those whose lives he enriched through his teaching.
Above, with his wife Carroll, daughter Blanche Baker, who became an Emmy winning actress, and his son, Herschel Garfein, who became a Grammy winning composer. He's remembered here at The Hollywood Reporter. R.I.P. Jack Garfein

Sadly a few left us late in 2019. It could be for family reasons, that we don't know about their sad demises, until much later.
We have to respect those matters with all humanity and understanding!
So not to cause extra pain to any grieving parts!
