I cut down on sugar about 90% last year, I'm going to try to cut back a little more. I've lost 32 lbs in the past year by cutting down on sugar, butter, cheese, cookies and cupcakes and salt, I'm not counting calories because that's too frustrating. I weigh 133lbs now and I would like to get down to 122lbs. (I'm 5 ft tall). I'm going to cut down on the other things a little more too. I'm actually eating more but I eat more vegetables, fruit and protein. I think I will try to increase my intake of protein, I'm just not a big meat eater. Perhaps I will try to eat more nuts and beans( The musical fruit). I cannot give up bread, bread makes me feel satisfied. I feel so much better with the weight loss and it was easy to do since I just changed my eating habits.

Good for you, WKM! 32 lbs ... impressive. I'm going to try to do better with leftovers. I like to cook, but I live alone, and often have leftovers that I don't feel like having the next night. I have to devise a plan that will combine; cooking smaller portions (where possible), sharing with neighbors (I have two who hate to cook, and always welcome soups/stews), and making a hard-and-fast rule that I can't make anything new, until everything is gone.

I say this all the time, but I see recipes online, on TV, in the newspaper, etc.....and I can't wait to try them, so I run to the store for the ingredients. Any leftovers still in the fridge will have to be pushed back a few days!

Keep the wine and beer to a minimum. The alcohol isn't the problem so much as the added weight!
