I did not see that one coming. You saw it? I mean the early first reactions.

Trashed indeed.
Its third act is so hopelessly inept, I'd have preferred the writer/director just default to a "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" ending, unceremoniously wrapping the film mid-scene...
OUCH!

It will still make a killing at the box office. At least in its opening weekend. Remember VENOM?

yeah i think people will enjoy it more than the criticts stands at 7.8 at imdb for now.. It was 8.2 yesterday 😲😲 no way it will go under 7 with audience on imdb. its highly enjoyable. the critics are way off on this one. you cant compare it to Venom on any level, I mean quality wise. its like a different galaxy. Venom was truly bad, badly shot, badly edited, with some questionable acting. this is well done with absolutely amazing acting. the script has weaker spots, yes, but to me its more about "are you willing to accept the directors game or not". i accepted it and it wasn't hard for me to do so. plus avoy should be getting all sorts of awards for this. much more deserving of it than oldman for churchill or bale for vice. thats where makeup people did the most. but here, with avoy transforming his facial expressions and the way he talks through them, with such complexity and such layered performance is simply a testament to truly powerful and very skilled acting.

It deserves to be trashed by the critics and everyone. It was slow going, with some stupidity in it, but then it finally got going, but at the end the stupidity became epic.

This is the work of a filmmaker who came perilously close to losing his entire audience by believing his own hype about his genius and who seems to have learned absolutely nothing from the experience. The film may be titled “Glass” but as it turns out, the whole endeavor is pretty much 100% pure Ass.

The film may be titled “Glass” but as it turns out, the whole endeavor is pretty much 100% pure Ass. what are you talking about? his films are repeatedly proving he has a huge and very loyal audience, despite his critical ratings going down, people still keep coming to his movies and make it a commercial success. you can say critics like him les and less but have you seen the numbers from box office? other than Water Lady which made its primary budget, what other movie was there that would be A] anything but success at the box office, and/or B] indicating people are getting tired of him/ he is on the verge of losing his audiance or ever was. I am genuinely interested what you are talking about… Even the After Earth was a box office success…. www.boxofficemojo.com/people/chart/?view=Director&id=shyamalan.htm

Audiences rated Glass with a 'B' cinemascore , which may seem low but Unbreakable received a 'C'

Glass is terrible. Yet another example of a filmmaker not being able to stick the landing with a trilogy. It's filled with fun ideas and stellar performances, but the story itself is utter nonsense. Major spoilers ahead You don't have henchmen for a character with no backstory kill off the hero. You just don't do it. Imagine Indiana Jones defeated the Nazis and then some random villager came up and killed Indy and they rolled credits. Imagine John McClane kissing his wife at the end of Die Hard and some random guy walks by and shoots McClane in the head. "I'm from a cult of cop killers," roll credits. It's a cardinal sin of storytelling; the nonsensical, meaningless death of the hero.
You can kill the hero. You can have him fail. But you can't kill the hero and the villains at the hand of some random third party with zero motivation leading up to it. It doesn't work.
These hack writers like Shyamalan are taking the wrong lessons from Game of Thrones. Surprise deaths of beloved characters only work when they push the story in an interesting new direction. Having henchmen overpower a guy that can flip cars and drown him in a puddle is not good storytelling. It's a middle finger to the audience. You're right, we didn't see it coming, Night. We expected coherent storytelling. Who am I kidding, this is Shyamalan we're talking about. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 15 times... It's just a shame because I consider Unbreakable and Split to be incredible films. There's even some great stuff in Glass. But I'm never going to watch it again, that twist is so idiotic I have to pretend this film never happened. It won't be the first or the last time I ignore a bad entry into a cinematic mythos, these things happen.

I watched it and I was not impressed but I was also not angry at it. It's definitely the sort of movie that would divide general audiences and critics because it's a good product and a somewhat shoddy film.
I'd like to give it another spin before I make a final judgement but I think I'm going to end up siding heavily with the critics on this one. This movie is not that good in virtually every respect. It's the McDonald's cheeseburger equivalent of a film.

WOW 2 days into release and its already the lowest rated of the "trilogy" on IMDB. So its BS that only critics hated it.

So its BS that only critics hated it. most people on imdb gave it a 7 or 8. thats overall can hardly be interpreted as the movie being hated by fans/non critics. are there some people who hated it? yes. but majority people seems to see it as good to very good. but more importantly, whats your prediction on box office?

Looks like a 50 million opening 4 day long weekend. It will do about the same a Split. About 140 domestic and 150 overseas total run. Maybe a bit more.word of mouth will make for a big second weekend drop.
