Stinkbusters was a rip-off of the original film and poorly written with dislikable characters, all men being assholes or idiots in the film, Chris's character being a male bimbo or himbo with no brains in his head, a lame villain who lacks the charisma/presence of Viggo and Gozer and all that.
Who agrees with everything i said to let this franchise die with Ramis and move on to new franchises?

To be fair, Chris's character was supposed to be the inversion of Janine Melnitz, Annie Potts' character. She wasn't a mental giant in the original either.

They had wanted to do a third movie in the 90s but Bill Murray was being obnoxious about it.

I mean, I'm not too sure what would even be the point of this anymore? They had the first 24 years to come up with a Ghostbusters 3 (after II). The reboot was even supposed to be the third movie. My good guesswork is that they probably don't want Ghost Corps to go completely to waste--and that Dan Aykroyd probably needs the work.
Plus was there also supposed to be an animated film or show in works too?

This new film will be "The Force Awakens" for Ghostbusters in that will be very safe and familiar even though it will be fun and entertaining and Jason Reitman will be the "J.J. Abrams" for Ghostbusters. That is how I see it too. It is the exact same thing except with Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Winston Zeddmore and possibly Dana Barrett, Louis Tully and Janine Melnitz as the Luke Skywalker, Princess Liea, Han Solo, Chewbucca, C3PO and R2D2 of the franchise returning in smaller roles years later and that is what 'Ghostbusters' is. A franchise. Not one movie that was made back in the 80s as some people see. We had two movies, animated shows, novels, comic books and a 2009 video game that was an official sequel to the movies with the original cast returning and it has continued on for years in other various forms of entertainment and was bound to return to the big screen.

Well of course Ernie Hudson and Dan Aykroyd will do it. It's not like they've been busy in the acting world. Ernie does commercials now for CarShield and Dan continues to hawk his Crystal Head Vodka.

I think with Dan we need to remember this is his franchise. He created the 'Ghostbusters' and he has been waiting years to make another one and use a lot of the elements that were meant to be in the original movie like the 'Ghost World' which they used in the 2009 video game which was based on the original script Dan and Harold wrote for 'Ghostbusters 3' in the early 90s. I personally think when Harold died the full rights of the 'Ghostbusters' should have gone back to Dan so he could have been free to do what he wanted with his creation.

But I'm sure Dan is doing this because he need work/money. When was the last time he was starring in a good film?

I don't think Dan has been in anything big since he played the voice of Yogi Bear in the live action movie but this might be his come back for all we know. Weirder things have happened and no one expected Robert Downey Jr would become a big star again after all his drug problems in the 90s. His role as Larry in 'Ally McBeal' was the biggest role he had in quite some time and it looked like he was going to stay a TV actor but he surprised us all.

Ernie had a reoccuring role at a really magnificent Netflix show till last year and Aykroyd has done a couple good movies fairly recently too. Sure they might like the extra attention and cahs that goes with GB but both are doing well in the acting world.

I always liked him, but he has turned into a total silver fox. I couldn't take my eyes off him on Grace and Frankie.
