This has always been my least favorite of the series, but I'm enjoying it tonight much more than I have in the past. It's just such a weird clash of tones but the action is top notch and Sly is in top form.
Moderate Yay for me.

Meh. It's more tightly knit than II, however it's also the stuffiest of the series - it's not really a fun movie when it should be. The final ground battle looks really dated with some lame weaponry.

Meh. It's watchable, but nothing special.
The original, on the other hand, is a masterpiece.

Yay. Has some educational stuff like the guy saying
"ancient enemy makes paryer about these people, save me from the teeth of the tiger, the venom of the cobra, and the vengeance of the Afghan" something Germany should have watched before they let in all those afghans.
It also had Osama bin Laden's people as the good guys.
and some good comedy like Trautman looking at Rambo's wound and saying: "how's the wound?"
Rambo: "You taught us to ignore pain remember?"
Trautman: "Is it working?"
Rambo: "Not really."

It is what it is: a mindless shoot 'em up and it delivers on that promise. I like that we finally get to see Rambo and Trautman fight together as a team and the whole desert setting adds some variety from the forest/jungles of the first two films.
So a "Yay" from me.

Definitely my least fave of the first 3. I only watched 4 once back when it came out so I can’t comment on that one too heavily, but I know I prefer 1 and 2 over 3.

Yay from me, I liked it better than IV, and even II...never understood all the love for that one, I didn't think it was anything special. Rambo: First Blood Part II features the character at its most iconic. Released the same year as the other commie destroying classic Rocky IV, it features our beefy American hero taking the fight to the enemy again. Because if America couldn't win the actual Vietnam war, it could always in the movies. "Sir, we do get to win this time?"

It's just such a weird clash of tones but the action is top notch and Sly is in top form. Moderate Yay for me. 3? As an action movie, its serviceable enough. But overall I have to say nay.
This is the movie in which they started to stretch reality. Surviving a flying shrapnel splinter of wood large enough to split any other man in half, then blowing up the wound with gun powder, and then immediately scaling a cliff wall! WTF? ITs Rambo, not Superman!
Also its politics are highly questionable now. That's the Taliban he's defending in that movie. Yep!
