Do you prefer books with long or short chapters ?
Personally i prefer many short chapters in a book. I think its easier to read a 500 page book with 50 chapters Than reading a 500 page book with 10-15 chapters.

It does not matter as long as it is a good book.

I prefer a greater quantity of short chapters than a smaller quantity of long chapters. I generally have to read a little bit here and a little bit there. I'd rather pause at the end of a chapter.

I like long chapters, but not too long. 10 to 15 pages is good for a chapter, I should think.
I don't like books that have really short chapters, like James Patterson novels. That's just lazy writing.

If the story is good, I want long chapters and a long book, don't want the story to end.

...it is a moot point with me...I like both styles...I especially like short story anthologies by authors like Frederic Brown...though the longer novellas are equally good...

It doesn't really matter, but if I had to choose I'd say short chapters. Sometimes with long chapters you feel like you're not getting anywhere.
A mix of lengths is ideal.

Depends on the story and how captivating...but in general I do prefer short chapters because I read intermittently so having stopping points that work well is good for me.

I don't mind long chapters in classic fiction, but in contemporary literature I prefer short chapters.

This is an odd question, it really has to do with the plotting of the story, if the author is trying to fill in the landscape and history and setting, I am more than willing to let him go on as long as they deem necessary to build it but action scenes seem to flow better through shorter connected chapters like most pulp fiction novels.
When it comes to Non-Fiction, is there a choice? The topic is just addressed until it is exhausted.

It really depends on how good the stories in the chapters are.

Doesn't matter to me. I read through large chunks and stop whenever my eyes get tired, end of a chapter or no.

I like shorter chapters because it's easier to reach the end of one when I have to stop reading for whatever reason.
