Would you bear a child, that you have raise, for a lump sum, tax free payment of $100,000.00? I wouldn't. I'm male and that would create problems in my body.
LOL!
But I do know a girl who had a baby for couple for $20,000. So for $100,000...? She'll have FIVE!!!

No. Requires more $$$ for a child.

I chose not to reproduce, for various and sundry reasons. But if I could be a surrogate for that amount, fine, as long as I never have to deal with a child, just hand it over and wave 'bye bye'. Of course, it is a moot point, due to my age.

No, that's nowhere near enough to set them up for life, which is what I would need guaranteed before I have a kid.
Besides, the world is overpopulated enough as is.

i may not understand the question properly. are you asking "would you have a child and accept 100 K as a bonus"? Sure. People have kids for free or even pay for being able to have them you know… so if someone wants to throw 100 K at me for having a kid, bring it.

I already have two that were "free" so yeah, I'd take the payment. Maybe i'd luck out and we'd have a boy this go round. I'm tired of being outnumbered at home.

People have kids for free or even pay for being able to have them you know… so if someone wants to throw 100 K at me for having a kid, bring it. The point is you have to raise and care for the child and be responsible for it financially (which over the 20 odd years would equate to more than $100,000). So would you be willing to do this for $100,000. If you already want/plan to have kids then I guess it's a bonus, but if like just about everyone else who posts here you have absolutely no interest in having children, it's probably not going to be enough. Hence my follow-up thread.

I would bear a child and give it up for adoption for $100,000.
But if I have to raise it --- no.

No way. We were considering having children at one point and my Sister was willing to have a baby for us but I never wanted to have a baby myself and that was always one of the things that freaked me out when I was with my ex. Although I used to tease some of my other exes and yell out things like "make me pregnant" when we were having sex and I told one of their Mum's I was pregnant with her son's baby and I was really excited over it and he got into so much trouble with his Mum until he told her I was making it up.

Based strictly on that $100,000 figure... No.
but if one was going to probably have a child anyways... then sure, who wouldn't?
but I think if you raised that $ to say $1,000,000+(tax free)... then those of us who don't have kids might seriously consider it at that point just on the $ alone as it would make the typical persons life quite a bit easier.

What about the life of the child? Does a child need a parent that thinks like this? "... just on the $ alone as it would make the typical persons life quite a bit easier." What about determining if that parent is capable of being a good parent? We have enough screwed-up kids as a result of bad or indifferent parenting. I purposely didn't have a child because of my own dysfunctional mother, and knew I could not be a good parent.

No, but I would consider becoming a father again for nothing, if the mother and I loved each other and wished to start a family.
If you're having children in return for a cash reward, you're probably doing it for the wrong reason.
Having said that, all financial donations would be gratefully accepted.
