I have brought my dog to the office on the weekends. I bring her bone and she basically just sits on the floor gnawing on it for hours, keeping me company. It does make for a great work environment, however, if you have a big enough company it's inevitable that two dogs won't get along, or the cat sits on the kitchen counter and people will bitch, etc. Something along those lines. Dogs, I would think, would be less of a nuisance than cats since you really can't control where they choose to go. But also at a bigger office allergies would be a concern. I'd love it if there were dogs everywhere, but it wouldn't be fair to some people. Really depends on the dog and how well their owner has trained them. My in-laws have dogs that are tons of fun but they are 100% untrained, so they bark all the time, will get in your face wanting attention, etc. A dog barking in the office won't last very long.

I have one dog that we got from the shelter. He's a beagle/Jack Russell, he was 2 y.o. when we got him 5 years ago. He's been the perfect friend & companion. Since we're getting up in age I don't know if I'll get another when he passes. I'd hate for the new dog to outlive us and be all alone here in the house for who knows how long?

In college, we got a cat and I named him Jonesy. He was a dead ringer for the Alien cat. He was also awesome, but sadly he died young. Ahhww. Mine doesn't look like the Alien cat, but he is named after him.

Absolutely. But you essentially can't train a cat. So if you bring your cat into an office it's kind of a guarantee that it's gonna end up somewhere it's not wanted.

Mine doesn't look like the Alien cat, but he is named after him. Oh man, Jonesy was the best. We lived on the second floor and had a screened in porch (down in NOLA). One of Jonesy's favorite games was to climb up the screen and try to catch mosquitoes. He was pretty light so he could do it. But if you drove by our house, you'd look up and just see what looked like a cat suspended in mid air, hovering. His other favorite game was to wait under the bed and when you got up, he'd sneak attach your calf. I miss that little bastard.

Swimming Turtles
Except I don't abuse animals like Rocky did - have a 60 gallon aquarium with a sweet a$$ docking station and sun lamp for my red eared sliders
They eat nothing but the best - combination of carrots, tuna fish and chicken
Animal Abuser:
I love turtles. I'd get some but it's a lot of upkeep. We were at the zoo this past Saturday, there were some beauties there.

My awesome dog that I got from a rescue shelter. She's 50% Siberian Husky, and the other half is a mish-mash of pitbull and boxer. She's fuckin awesome. 45 or so pounds, lightning fast, super playful and sweet, zero aggression, never barks (she can, just chooses not to), just wants to love and be loved, humans and other dogs alike. If I were rich and had more land and time, I'd rescue all of them. The way people treat dogs (animals in general, to be fair) breaks my heart. Big animal guy, here. I get it that there are dog people and cat people and that's fine. I love both. But if you're someone that blanketly doesn't like animals, then I don't want to know you. Where I live we have a number of idiots in my neighborhood who get a cat, then let him outside to fend for himself. It's why there's so many ferals. These cats are never neutered, go out and spit out babies resulting in more ferals. They're all over the place. I've caught a few and got them fixed and I feed three. Had two litters born in my backyard. Got them all fixed and found homes for (two literally ended up in Paris, France, they're back in California now though). I wish I could kick these people's asses. They think they're being cool by getting a cat, but then the cat is basically just on its own. The one feral I had that I fed for a few years who was the sweetest boy ever, was from this house of these losers, the old lady looked like a crack addict and had a 50 year old son still living at home. These people were the biggest douchebags. This cat was just a sweetie but had this tick where you'd pull your hand away and he'd swipe at you so I had all kinds of scratches on my hands and ankles from him. I couldn't take him inside because he ahd swiped my dogs a number of times and they didn't like him. So I tried finding a home for him and lucked out, he now lives in San Francisco with this lady who babies him and he has an amazing life, inside, away from the cold and gets great food and warmth 24/7. We went and saw him this past Saturday, he's doing so great. One of my best rescues.

I don't have a filter - use a giant hose called a 'python' to drain the water out of the tank every couple of weeks out the window and fill back up with faucet water - it's a huge ordeal but I've had them for 10 years now and as ridiculous as it sounds they're like family - cool to look at at night with the tank all lit up when they were babies swimming back and forth........

One dog, 3 cats, and 2 hedgehogs
My dog is a rescue. Half black lab half doberman. Her name is Juno. She's smart as a whip and loving and loyal without a fault.
Two of the cats are brothers that look completely different with totally opposite personalities.
And the hedgehogs are...well...hedgehogs

place in my area that 'farms' Dobermans and Rotties - yeah - there was a special about this on either 20/20 or Dateline.
what made you pick the name Juno?
or did you stick with the dog's present name so she didn't get confused. just curious - own the comedy........
never even thought of a half lab/Doberman mix or can imagine what it looks like - smaller than a Dob - but muscular like a boxer in a sense with a sweet disposition?

He said 'I love turtles' and there was really nothing I could do. I think we all knew what needed to be done, but understandably nobody else would take action for the greater good, so I had to step up.

She was separated from her mother when she was 6 weeks old and I got her when she was 8 weeks and hadn't been named. Her name is two-fold. Juno is a Roman goddess and protector of the Roman people. It is also the name of the spacecraft that is exploring Jupiter. She is black with the gold Doberman markings but with the thicker lab body and Doberman head. She weighs 80 lbs so she is big. She is the sweetest dog I have ever had but yet protective. If I have a visitor she doesn't know she will sit alert at my feet until she determines if they are a threat or not

How are they as pets? It's a topic of great interest in my household. As I understand it there are laws about where their legal to keep, and I doubt there are many hedgehog shelters so you'd have to buy from a store or breeder, and I really don't like that idea. They are pretty fun to look at though.

She's an inside dog. Anyone who keeps their dog in an outside unheated kennel in this weather should be shot. When she needs to do her business it is get the job done quickly and straight back to the house in this weather.
