Thought this was quite good . From the writer/director of Nightcrawler this is a darkly comedic look at the smug art world. Jake Gyllenhaal steals the show (the rest of the cast is really good too) . Try to see it as "cold " as possible cause the trailer gives away quite a bit.
highly recommend it if you have Netflix !
8/10

I really enjoyed this, 8/10. I agree with the above post that JG stole the film as the fussy art critic. He was also the only one of the main characters I found tolerable, but I think that was the point. I felt like there wasn't actually a protagonist. I appreciated the closing credits scene because I did like that character despite the small role. I may watch this again just to make sure I didn't miss any more scenes that connected the characters to the art like the tattoo scene.

I didnt love it. I appreciate the visuals and all of the amazing actors especially Jake but to me it took too long before it started to be interesting and the satire was not satirical enough for my taste, it just felt vapid.
But that said - all the actors did amazing jobs and the movie looks very good so its not horrible just for me it was not entertaining enough.
6.5/10 overall but the acting was 10/10.

Watched it yesterday. It's an ambitious, but ultimately flawed movie. The way the concept or subgenre of horror is tackled is original and there's potential, but with the exception of one specific robot scene it never achieves its desired effect for me. It's reasonably fun due to the performances, especially by Jake Gyllenhaal who knocks it out of the park (as always). But I have a feeling that this will plummet upon a rewatch and the story overstays its welcome, with some of the later moments being dull instead of scary. In the end, it's a mixed bag for me. Could've been worse, but I hoped for more. 5/10.
