The new Chucky trailer actually looks well done, and they've wisely hidden Chucky throughout the preview to keep him mysterious. I'm happy the remake looks good, but kind of sad that the older model of Chucky is being retired. He had a good run. I have no information on who is playing Chucky, IMDB lists no one, maybe they've yet to cast a voice for him?

Or maybe they don’t have a voice for him period. That’s how I feel at this point.
That said, the trailer was awesome. Way better than the Pet Sematary one, which basically shows the entire movie. This one keeps things hidden and leaves you wanting more, which is what a trailer should do.

From what I understand the older model of Chucky is not being retired as there's a TV series in the works that will continue from the story in the last few movies.
There's supposedly some strange legal issue with the rights that allows for different people involved in the original to go forward with different aspects of the property, so that's how we can get a remake and a continuation simultaneously.
Weird.

Weird. Kinda reminds me of the Evil Dead remake being followed up by the Ash vs. Evil Dead TV series. Or Halloween (2018) coming after Halloween (2007), the chronological order gets thrown out the window.

It would be more original that way, possibly even more scary. I doubt that's what will happen though, I just think they released the trailer as it is before finishing recording the voice actor, who they're saving as a surprise. Or, they still have yet to cast someone.

sweet.
was it the 2nd to the last one - the chick in the wheelchair? was that curse of chucky - thought it was well done.
side note - doesn't the kid in this trailer look a little to old/big to have a 'doll'?

He does seem past the point of wanting a doll. He's a good little actor though, he played a creepy little kid on American Gothic, a summertime TV series from a few years back. Aubrey Plaza in a non-comedic role as the mom is an interesting choice too.

Rocky III stars American Hero and Icon - Hulk Hogan - which makes it an instant classic IMO - a must watch

It doesn't look *bad* but I'm getting major Poltergeist 2015 "Do we really need this?" vibes from it.

Just saw the other movies randomly over the years, but never committed myself to a complete series marathon as I find watching too many of the same type of movies in a row leaves me feeling burnt out.

Fair enough. But you will venture them soon, right? Doesn’t have to be part of a marathon, just view them as their own.
