Turkey Vultures return to certain trees when it starts to get dark. They circle and circle before settling into their "home" tree and then they jostle for position on the branches. . yup...one summer we had dozens of them roosting in our tall pine trees....it was creepy....and the shit all over back there...

Well, I'm not Catman, but my thought is that she won't eat while on her chicks. Probably she will eat when her mate takes over the babysitting. I don't know about their diet, but probably plain bird seed would be best. They may also eat insects; it varies among types of birds. But what a special process you are being able to watch! Well, both the birds have turned into villains now. I can't even imagine how parents can be so evil. Their kids are almost always hungry. And she has laid another egg today. She hasn't even fed the kids even once today. Even her mate is a disgusting creature who is doing nothing. I don't even know what to do. Kids have rejected everything I offered them. and on top of that, they have made my window worse looking than a mountain of garbage. Although it is not that thing that is making me angry. I was already told by my cousin that my place will be completely dirty if I allow them to live in the little place on my window. I wanted the kids to live and so I didn't remove their nests. But they are worse than human beings. They produce more and more kids and care about eggs but not about the real chicks who are living today. Her kids have grown pretty big but they can't fly. I think she chose a bad place to make a nest in the first place. My window slab is just as thick as one brick so the kids have not seen much beyond that little place. Worse of all I am leaving this house pretty soon. The flat owner might kick them out of their home soon as I don't think they will give such a house to a new tenant. Oh, I thought I was doing something good. And it has turned my life even more difficult because I keep worrying about things to come.
I feel your concern, AJ. Working with wildlife can be heartbreaking. But, the mother bird may be practicing 'tough love', to get her babies out of the nest on their own. They may be able to fly, but won't because mom brings them everything. Right now, I am caring for a litter of 3 kittens with no mom. I was feeding them with a syringe, 4 times a day, and they loved it! But, they are old enough to eat solid food, so I introduced it, they walked around in it and still wanted their syringe. I had to let them get a little hungry. Now they are eating their solid food with enthusiasm. I still offer them the syringe after they eat, just to make sure everyone got enough, but soon, they will be eating canned cat food like little piggies. Nature can be harsh; I hope the best for your feathered friends and you. Survival of the fittest is the way of nature. As my late husband told me, when I started fostering cats for a rescue group, "Honey, remember - you can't save them all." Best wishes, take care of yourself.

They all meet on Melville Island in Canada to plan how they will take over the world and enslave humanity. Why Melville Island? Because the council of twelve birds decided it and humanity would never expect birds to go to Melville Island to plan to enslave humanity. And there are no humans living on Melville Island, Canada. Unlike Melville Island, Australia where there are people living.

Yeah, may be that's how they are trained. The problem is that it has been raining here since yesterday so I am not sure if those kids will actually fly. The good news is that one of the two kids finally did eat what I offered them this morning. I spread some red lentils near them and one of them has been eating the red lentils. I hope the second one does so too as their parents have not fed them anything since yesterday. Thanks for your wishes. It has been quite a stressful time recently because of 3 different reasons. I currently have to travel 2 hours each morning and 2 hours each evening from Mon to Fri to get to my new job. Sometimes it could take 2.5 hours too. and 9 hours of job too. And also an exam tomorrow. I have taken a day off from work today. When I shift to a new house near my current office I won't have to travel everyday so much. Trying to find a house just near the new office.

Hang in there... this, too, will pass. Get some rest!
