Corn, corn oil, and salt (with no preservatives). Does this qualify as "junk food" ?? SAVE FERRIS

I have to go with "not sure," on this one. (Get off the fence, Divtal!) I looked up "corn nutrition," and it parallels the percentages on the Frito label. For me, 32 chips is a fairly good serving. They're not full of unpronounceable chemicals, and I think for most people 7% daily sodium (for a snack) isn't out of line. However, they're not a "health food," by any stretch. I love Frito's as a side to a tuna sandwich.

They are MY junk food. Well used to be. I inhaled these all the time before I turned 19....some 30+yrs ago. They are the equivalent of potato chips for me-you know the saying can't eat just one. So I don't purchase them, I don't look at them when I go down that aisle. I know if I looked at the bag-computers don't count since my teeth don't go through screens-I would gain 20#s thinking about inhaling them. Then I would purchase said bag & literally gain 20#'s, because I would then purchase another & another & another---good god I want a Frito.

I love Frito's as a side to a tuna sandwich. Try some IN the sandwich. Experiment with just some tucked in a bite sized area first in case ya don't like 'em !

It's not bad as mainstream chips go. You won't get the benefits of eating corn you would from eating actual corn. Basically a serving (ha!) is 160 empty calories, no fiber, and you will very likely exceed 1 serving. "Your best bet when looking for a crunchy snack chip might be Beanitos. A single serving of Beanitos Baked Black and White Bean Skinny Dippers provides 90 calories, 2 grams of fat, 0 grams trans fat, 19 grams of carbohydrate, 1 gram of sugar and 5 grams of protein." www.verywellfit.com/the-best-and-worst-chip-choices-calories-in-top-picks-4117844
