On 13 January 1988, a woman was found severely beaten on the north side of the roadway at Georgia I-20 expressway west of I-285, with a serious head injury. She was deemed a victim of assault, and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where she lived for 5 days prior to death. She was between 30-40 years old, stood at 5'2 and weighed 105 lbs, had "dark reddish blonde" hair 11 inches in length, green eyes, a tattoo of the word "Jesus" followed by an apostrophe on the back of her right hand, a scar on her right forearm, two old scars on her right lower abdomen, and a healed mid-line abdominal scar that was possibly surgical. She was found wearing a brown overcoat, blue jeans, thermal underwear, a grey vest, a nightgown, white panties, a watch bracelet, and tennis shoes. Her dentals and fingerprints are available, she had gold crowns/caps on her two rear teeth, but her DNA seems to have never been taken.
What do you think might have happened to this poor woman? Her clothing strikes me as odd, presumably she was wearing her nightgown on top of her jeans and vest. I couldn't find any information on what time of day she was found, but if it was the middle of the night then the nightgown would be normal, but not the jeans. I personally have never heard of anyone wearing jeans under their nightclothes, but I'm not from the States, is it normal over there? Regardless, I do hope this lady gets her name back someday, I just came across this case and felt like it needed to be shared.

Sounds like she maybe was woken from sleep by an emergency, real or fake, and attacked while dealing with it.
