So I guess the lesson to be learned from the marketing campaign of Captain Marvel is: It's ok to have a female lead, just don't go out of your way to remind everyone. Apparently there are still enough men out there with serious inadequacy issues that will be offended and intimidated by a woman expressing her opinion.

I think a lesson for the marketing team is that they shouldn't change their marketing strategy for a film just because the lead is female. Just promote it the same way you promote every other MCU film.
