I highly recommend viewing the documentary Apollo 11, especially in the IMAX (the last day for IMAX showings is Thursday). I consider it a "great" documentary, mainly due to the extraordinary effort that the filmmakers made to restore the fifty-year-old footage. It is virtually pristine—incredibly clear and detailed—and seems as if it had just been shot. The result is that the cinematography and audio make this history appear fresh and vivid and visceral, both from Earth and the moon. One receives a sense of what 1969 and the experience of Apollo 11 (both as a participant and an observer) happened to be like.
Apollo 11 also makes for a nice complement to First Man from a few months ago.

I saw it today and loved it as well. Fantastic footage, very well edited and with no extraneous narration getting in the way. I only wish they had put subtitles during the parts where the audio is of poor quality.
