The Iranian director (A Separation, The Salesman, The Past) tries his hand at a Spanish movie – and he gets Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem to star in it, no less! I don’t want to give much away of the plot. It starts with Penelope Cruz going back to her small town for her sister’s wedding, and then something happens that brings up secrets and resentments.
If you’ve liked the director’s previous films, you will certainly like this one as well. Highly recommended.

It was good. Started off kinda meh, but really picked up towards the middle. The ending was pretty unsatisfactory. Not saying they necessarily needed a cut-clean resolution but, they could’ve ended better.
I give it five bags of popcorn and...3 Spanish dictionaries so that you can translate the dialogue for yourself.
