Haven't seen much of that kind of movie with my parents. In middle school when Titanic was in the theater I got a bit uncomfortable when we saw Kate Winslet's boob and then screwed Leo. Wasn't really expecting that in a PG-13 film heh.

You watched Caligula with your parents?! LOL!!! Alrighty then! My mother is a history buff. Of course, neither of us thought it would be as explicit as it was notorious to be. It exceeded our expectations. lol

I get the history buff part, but the movie was WELL KNOWN for what it was long before it made it to home video.
But then again my mom took me to see The Exorcist in theatres, so... LOL!

Well, we didn't think it would be THAT bad. I saw the Exorcist at a drive-in twice and I was around 4. Not a good age to see it!

Ah, The Exorcist. You and I must be around the same age then. My mom was a single parent and I was an only child so she used to take me to see everything. I saw a lot of adult fare and most of the time it was ok, but every once in a blue moon we'd get an Exorcist. I remember seeing Carrie too, LOL!
Exorcist is the only movie that emotionally messed me a up a little bit. As an only child sleeping alone in my room I used to think "is that going to happen to me?" My mom would always say "That's just a movie. Its not real." And most of the time I got that. But every once in a blue moon... EXORCIST!

I saw it at a triple bill with the Mutations and Black Christmas. It's more my father's fault since he probably was the one who wanted to go, although my mother bought me horror books at the age of 5 so maybe she didn't care either. I think it would have been worse seeing it in an indoor theater. It definitely spooked me for years about attics.
I was reading Famous Monsters at 6, even though it said ages 12 and up.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High. There may be other movies that seem more awkward, but I was in junior high at the time.

Amazing film but not one to watch with your folks. Yeah, luckily I saw that one alone. Don't worry it could have been far worse. Can you imagine watching something like Nymphomaniac with your parents?

I don't remember ever feeling awkward watching a film with my parents. They were quite sophisticated and not easily shocked.
