Looks like director Harry Bromley-Davenport and producer Mark Forstater are trying to reboot the Xtro franchise with another (unrelated?) film; ‘Xtro: The Big One’. Sounds like they are hoping to get it made in the next year or two.
On last year’s UK Xtro bluray release was an extra titled “Beyond Xtro” which touched upon the idea and showed about 3 mins worth of test footage with “visual effects in progress” statement.
The footage looks... um. Yeah, epic.😕
The trailer below is mainly for the bluray release of the original film, but it shows around 30 seconds of test footage for ‘Xtro: The Big One’.

Of all the potential franchises that could get rebooted, seems like an odd choice.

I remember some nudity (that's all I remember) but for a British made movie it didn't make me want to check it out again. Which reminds me, I have yet to watch Inseminoid. Maybe one of these days...

It's a British ALIEN rip off I think. Pics of it were in More Classics of the Horror Film which i got back in the mid 80s and still have.

Remember seeing it when it first came out in a London cinema, freaky little flick.

I recall in the day renting this one out and enjoyed it. Upon subsequent viewings, it didn't really hold up. Some of the make-up effects were interesting. Yeah, it’s pretty much a sum of parts. Experimental, and random. Pure shock effects, bizarre and creepy imagery. I always find the nighttime roadside sequence of the alien to be highly unnerving. Something which never left my mind after first seeing it.

There were interviews with people calling it a "skinwalker" and saying that they had seen it around where they live. I remember commenting on a YouTube video depicting such nonsense and saying it was from the movie Xtro.
