Okay......I realize there are many, MANY people in this world with money (literally) to burn. But even with that kind of dough, are there REALLY enough of them out there routinely dropping $700 for just ONE HDMI cable, to make selling these things highly profitable?
Yes, I get it.....this is a 'high-end' 4K audiophile item, that someone like me not only couldn't afford, but more than likely would never truly appreciate, since most 'decent' looking/sounding tv, video, or stereo equipment is PLENTY good for me. While I DO tend to notice an exceptionally good picture, or sound system when I see/hear it, spending A LOT more money to get something like that just seems unnecessary, and not anything I've ever done.
That said, what REALLY blows my mind about the above item listed on the Best Buy website, is if you scroll down toward the bottom of the page, click on, and then read through some of the 'customer reviews' by people that have (supposedly) purchased these things.
For instance, the first person ACTUALLY states that it's SO good, that he/she bought 28 of them (and even 'jokes' about inadvertently leaving two of them at the store, and that they were "....kinda upset, but at this price I was able to just LOL at my mistake and move on.") !! WHAT ??
But that's just the beginning.....the next "reviewer" then ups the 'ante' by claiming they're SO good he/she bought 63 of them!
Okay.....it was just about this point that I started questioning exactly how many (if any) of these are legitimate, actual "reviews". Unfortunately, this VERY thing (i.e., review 'veracity') is something that has become a VERY big problem on MANY (if not most) websites that post customer reviews, like these.
While I don't doubt that there are plenty of people out there that could EASILY afford 28, or even 63, 4K HDMI cables at $700 a 'pop', who, even among the VERY rich, would EVER need that many? (And what happens with all these, when the NEXT evolution (8K ??) then hits the market?
Anyone?
