Went to see Frantz a few days ago. Fair warning - I do enjoy Ozon's movies almost always, so if you don't like his style, this one is not going to do it for you. It is a grim and slow movie, but in the best sense for movie goers (who enjoy those kinda movies). It is a bit predictable (in the way that once the frenchman enters the scene and it shows him visiting the cemetery you KNOW he either A) is his killer or B) is his secret lover) but to me thats not really a down side, the story is so well acted and beautifully shot, that it is still worth watching. I especially enjoyed the change from black and white into color and back in the movie. That gave it a real sense of "being there with them", always when it changed into color, without losing the feeling of a period movie from WW1 times. After the disappointment that was Wilson, the Last Word and Life, I am relieved this one is a movie I can recommend.
