This series for me will always the biggest 'what if' tv series. What if it had gotten a fair shot? What if Whedon got the green light and was able to make more episodes, got more seasons to tell his tales?
Now, personally I give it an 8. This is more for the actors and the whole feel of the show than for the episodes themselves. Those were quite uneven imo. Great pilot, followed by an almost even number of great and reasonably good episodes.
The movie might have tied up some elements of the story given in the few episodes that were made, but still, what if?
What's your opinion?

I've watched the entire thing, and found it to be one of the very most overrated POS I've had the displeasure to encounter. Castle Goes To Outer Space has no appeal for me. Fillion's a TV movie quality actor, at best; his appearance in anything signals to me that I'm about to endure more bad cheese than a septic dairy farm. And the movie? No. Just....no.

5/10
Too much Western, too less Sci-Fi.
I like(d) the movie much better that was shot afterwards to wrap the story up. 7.5/10
The Expanse is no Western show but with a great deal of SciFi including a careful depection of how gravitation or the lack of would affect space travel; then the politics, economy etc. pp. everything that Firefly lacked bitterly. I don't get the hpye of this shallow Western opera with some distant Sci-Fi content.

8/10. Had potential to be more...or less. We'll never know, I suppose.

I didn't care much for the books though, so I'm withholding judgement on tje series untill I see more of it. To be fair, The Expanse is just building on old SF, there's nothing new to it. Heinlein and other older writers have written plenty of tales on the politics and economy of the solar system after colonisation.

I have it at 7/10. Uneven; flashes of brilliance.

Yep I gave it a 7. It was good, but it never had time to reach the level of awesomeness that it might've reached.

Even though I heard so much about this series I had no desire to watch a SF/western tv series. And I almost gave up after the first few episodes. But this show got progressively better and, by the final episode, was hitting its stride. What a shame it was cancelled. Unlike many modern SF series, this is one I can rewatch and still enjoy. It doesn't depend on surprises but rather on strong characters and stories. 9/10 The film Serenity was also very good and worth watching.
Just watched it again recently. Gotta bump it to 10/10.
