I recently changed dentists and just like my last one, my new dentist tells me my teeth look good. Thing is I only really brush once a day and I may floss once or twice a week. I'm wondering if maybe they just say this to everyone to make them happy. Does your dentist compliment you on how clean and well kept your teeth look?

Most likely he is not complimenting them on their good looks but is simply telling you that you don't have any cavities, gingivitis or significant plaque ~~ as in "it's all good... pay the receptionist and be on your way."

Catman is between dentists. The last one purchased the practice from Catman's longtime dentist. At first, she seemed okay, but then she started be a no-show at appointments due to 'family emergencies'. Yeah, that excuse doesn't really hold water when Catman sees her damn car in the parking lot. And when she insisted Catman needed new crowns and he balked because of the price, she said, "What's more important? Your money or your teeth?" And she left the examination room in a huff. The previous dentist would have worked out a payment plan.

Yes but just the way she said it made me feel like I was getting some high praise despite not having great habits. I do use ACT an extra once or twice a day though so maybe that helps.

permutojoeAs long as the dentist doesn't say "make an appointment for next week and save every Wednesday open from now on", you're probably ok ...no matter how she said "yer lookin' good !" .

He usually does. He did when I first met him even though I knew my teeth didn't look that good.
