Any of you ever heard of this site? What do you think of it? Cameo is a platform where fans can book personalized video shoutouts from their favorite celebrities, athletes, or influencers. So if you want a certain actor, athlete, musician, comedian, celebrity, politician, etc. to send a video shoutout to a friend, family member or yourself involving a birthday shoutout, congratulating your parents on a wedding anniversary, congratulating someone on graduating college, Q and A, roasting a friend, etc. you can do it with this site. Of course you have to pay for it and prices vary by celebrity. www.cameo.com/www.cameo.com/faqwww.cameo.com/c/featured - You can see a sample of some of the featured celebrities on the site as well as click on their page and see sample video messages they've sent to people.

Once I paid for the video am I aloud to do with it whatever I want?
Let's say I made an indie film and I wanted to have a scene where the character is sent a cameo video with Caitlyn Jenner saying Happy Birthday, can I use the video in the film and have no legal problems?
So basically I'd have a known celebrity in my film in the laziest possible way?

But I think, generally speaking, you send a request to a celebrity, they grant it, and then the video is yours to download, link up, post wherever you want, etc. It's your video that you paid for. But there is a possible issue of using someone's footage, image, likeness without their consent. I hear Caitlyn Jenner charges $1,000 for a video request according to Caitlyn's page. Bottom line though, if you're not sure, then message the Cameo people on the Cameo site and see what they say. I hope that FAQ link from my original post can also provide some assistance.

I've heard of it, but look at the inventory of Z-list celebrities! I have not heard of 95% of them.

Sean Austin (Sam from LOTR, or Bob from Stranger Things), Michale Rappaport (Boston Public), Tom Felton (Draco)… a personalised video from these guys can make great presents for some people, believe me.

Yeah I can see using it as a gift. I don't get using it for yourself, you would just be paying someone to basically say your name. I guess the for yourself option is for charity or promotion

For those who regularly go to this site and/or have used this site, are there any specific people whose cameo page you follow? Who seems to have the best/worst messages? Have any of you actually booked a video for someone or even yourself?

I booked: Perez Hilton Michael Rappaport Tom Felton and some athlete whose name I cant recall now. all were great, did exactly what was asked od them and made it seem really genuine. Made for great presents. Like made people cry with joy and stuff. Each time it was prompt, product exactly like promised, I would recommend it. Perez Hilton seemed to have the most fun with it. He is very good to his fans. From what i have seen people really love his bits. Also Sean Austin seems like he tries to outdo himself.
