Saw it recently . I wanted to like it- and theres good parts in it, but Its far too depressing of a film to truly enjoy this
All of wolverines efforts to change time in Days of Future Past are thrown away like toilet paper now that they are all dead. Her brings Jean,Prof X and Scott back and now they all are dead. Finality is one thing. If they want to kill off Wolverine and Prof X fine, Movies are supposed to raise your spirits. After watching this film you need to go get an Rx of an antidepressant. What were they thinking? A superhero film?

Nope, just a comic book movie I think. Ever seen Road to Perdition? Now that's a downer.

well, now this is a personal opinion, but I think the superhero genre or comic book genre should be allowed to be whatever it needs to be, sort of like Science Fiction, it can be a drama, a family film, an experimental film, a horror film, etc.

Not depressing but heartbreaking...and ultimately uplifting!

I love superhero flicks but seeing more and more different genre films that happen to be based off a comic (again like Road to Perdition or Ghost World, etc.) would be great.

This is X-Men's version of The Dark Knight Rises, maybe not as bad that one but it's not a great film, overrated and terrible finale

What were they thinking? A superhero film? Don't confuse a super hero movie with a comic book movie. They don't all have to be exactly the same. That'd be like saying Unforgiven is a slap in the face to fans of westerns. Both movies are about the finality of the war torn, world weary "gunslinger." They are beautiful send offs to not just the characters, but the actors in them.

I wish they gave us an after credit scene that would give us a little hope. Show Mister Sister taking Laura back in time. Show Laura helping the younger Xavier by giving him his pills. And finally show a retired Logan (with the same greys that he had in DOFP) cruising into the sunset on his own boat. SOMETHING nice after 2 hours of dark pain and misery. BUT on second thought, I'm glad we finally have a comic book movie that has balls enough to kill both main characters in the ugliest ways.

And this is why we should all be thankful no blind fanboys had creative control over this film. Time travel in some after credits scene, completely out of the blue? And when this film was all about bringing closure to Jackman's time as Wolverine, not about setting up sequels? It would have been ridiculous.

If it's an after credit scene, technically it's not part of the film as a whole... or it shouldn't. It's just meant as a prelude. But I understand what you mean and I somewhat agree. But damn... this really is the darkest comic book movie ever made. Two deaths of two of the most beloved CBM characters - one of which I've had to watch twice now... it's kind of depressing.

It's just another example of how the people in charge of the X-Movies have little idea of what they're doing beyond the one film. They have no vision for the future.
EDIT: And please, no one say "It's worth it for a film like Logan!" because you could easily still make a movie like that without proving everyone elses' lives all ended for nothing.

So basically like every post you've ever put on here with your usual autistic zeal and repetitive, dogmatic fervor?
