Tom Cruise was attached to star for a time. The script was originally written by Tony Gilroy ( Rogue One, The Bourne Legacy). Right now, the director of Spider-Man: Homecoming Jon Watts is in talks to helm the film's production. Admittedly, I was kind of hoping that Noah would usher in a new era of big weird bible movies. Until that same year when Ridley Scott's pretentious ass ran it to the ground with Exodus: Gods and Kings.

Lol would've been quite a subgenre.

I think now, what with CGI, they really could adapt the stranger stories from the Old Testament. I'm surprised (well not really) no one aside from Aronofsky's taken a crack at it.
