Spirited Away 10 The Wind Rises 9 Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind 8 Howl's Moving Castle 8 Lupin the Third Castle of Cagliostro 8 Princess Mononoke 8 Kiki's Delivery Service 8 Porco Rosso 8 Ponyo 6 My Neighbor Totoro 6 Laputa Castle in the Sky 4
It's a shame that no other animation director has had the chance to make as many good movies as he has. Most of the big budget filmmakers have to wait years between films from other filmmakers and the indie filmmakers have to do commercials and other side projects to earn money.

Yeah, he's definitely one of a kind. True, but what I was lamenting was the lack of creative opportunities that have kept other filmmakers from achieving their potential. Nobody else has been able to make so many animated movies in their whole career with that level of creative control. A large part of it was Toshio Suzuki's influence in getting Nausicaa turned from a manga into a movie thanks to his connections with Animage. Without that, there would be no Studio Ghibli. Unfortunately, the Comics Code killed adult interest in comic books in the US, and the comics that get turned into animation are mostly comedic 3 or 4 panel comic strips and superheroes.

I know what you were saying. I was just lazily commenting.
