Who else wants the greatest Horror movie of All-Time remade?
And who would play Brody?
My top picks:
Bale Depp Downey Jr. Liam Neeson
Go!

First off, hell to the no.
Second, probably Bale as well.

Other, specifically Clark Gregg since he's the closest thing modern Hollywood has to an everyman type. On a related note, Russell Crowe would make an excellent Quint.

IF they were to REHASH Jaws...the actor from Wolf Creek SHOULD play Quint. NOT SURE about any of the other roles. BUT OF COURSE they SHOULDN'T RETREAD Jaws OR any other CLASSIC film.

Bale, Crowe, Oldman as the mayor-----not bad actually. I mean IF you were going to do it, then at least they would be interesting choices.
I think the main selling point would be a much more realistic mechanical shark, but is it enough? I think THE MEG ruined any chance of a mass market Jaws remake.

First off, hell to the no. Second, probably Bale as well. Don't worry James. I think they have already been beaten by the 'Sharknado' and '2-Headed Shark Attack' movies and there is no way they can top those movies now. Forget Jaws when you have sharks flying in the air and sharks with two heads.

Proposed this years ago on the old IMDB and believe it's brilliant if I do say so myself. Anybody up for a 'Jaws' Mini Series so to speak? i.e. it airs from the opening of Summer (Memorial Day) to the end of Summer (Labor Day) - i.e. the End of May to the beginning of September. Could be a one hour show a week on a Sunday night or something that follows Brody and family arriving in New England to the final encounter with the shark. Along the way - we can have some love stories intertwined - etc - kind of like Bates Motel. Who's with me?

I'd hate to see them remake JAWS but the casting debate is intriguing.
This would be my choice but could easily change if I spent too much time thinking it over!:
James Franco - Brody Domhnall Gleeson - Hooper Joaquin Phoenix - Quint James Woods - The Mayor Vera Farmiga - Ellen Brody
I did think Bruce Willis for Quint but he is a shade too old for the role now. Really struggled for Hooper also. Dreyfuss was late 20s when he did JAWS but I can't imagine anyone around that age nowadays who would fit the bill.
Woods would have to be a much older Mayor than Murray Hamilton but I think he has the right personality for that to still work.
Farmiga I think is a natural for Ellen Brody.
