There's a number of horror directors from the 1980s who are still active today. Jim Wynorski's become the king of late night television erotica and continues to work with Fred Olen Ray (who's been active since the 1970s), David DeCoteau produces brand erotica showcasing muscle men in underwear through his own company Rapid Heart Pictures, Donald Farmer makes a peculiarly sincere type of horror known as "earnest exploitation" and Frank Henenlotter's been satirising the industry while simultaneously documenting his experiences in the world of underground art.
There are others, of course, including Todd Sheets who was a leading figure during the golden years of s.o.v. (shot-on-video) horror. Sheets has ably served the state of Missouri with his ability and he's an interesting case because he's arguably the one remaining '80s director who's producing better work now than he did during his glory years (depending on how you view his home video output). He was once dismissed by critics as nothing more than a "z-grade" filmmaker ... he's now revered within horror circles as one of digital cinema's finest.

Do you enjoy any movies directed by Todd Sheets?
Thanks.

There's one Todd Sheets movie I found interesting which is 'Dreaming Purple Neon' (2016). It's a loud, Lovecraftian dirge with vibrant colour schemes and outlandish gore sequences that screams in your face. It's not a film I care to see again but I respect the work that went into it. I'd like to see his latest offering, 'Bonehill Road' (2017).
