No. The first Avengers is still amazing. No fat to cut.
Then...depending on my mood, Ultron or Infinity. Both have flaws.
Whedon pushed the monsters bit too hard but failed to make it work. Several shots are amazing-pages out of comic books brought to live & he understood each of the characters in ways the Russos never, ever will.
Like the thud when Thor lands on the Quinjet. He knows Thor & Loki are denser than normal humans. Thor ducks because he doesnt know if bullets will harm him, but Loki doesn't. All those bullets sent IN HIS DIRECTION, but he knows they aren't aware of his physical reality.
Whedon has forgotten more than the Russos will ever know about the characters.
Endgame is easily the worst of the 4.

Absolutely. That film butchered Ultron.
It's the BvS of the MCU.

After watching Endgame, its made me appreciate Age of Ultron a lot more. The Natasha-Hulk thing is still cringey but not as lame as professor hulk dabbing to kids And also Whedon treated Banner and Thor with dignity. Russos dumbed them down

The lesser of the four but it is by no means a bad film.
The worst Avengers film is still miles better than the best Justice League film

Still fun but quality wise, pretty mediocre. I could've cared less about the plot being a rehash of the Avengers 1 if they made Ultron as intimidating as he was in the trailers. So glad as well that the Natasha and Banner subplot has been forgotten ever since (except for that scene in Thor: Ragnarok). I mean, AoU wasn't a bad movie by any means imo, just underwhelming and messy.

It's funny I thought fat Thor was one of the few redeeming qualities of Endgame. That being said Age of Ultron is the best mcu movie and the best comic book movie in my opinion. With Ultron being the best villain. Thanos may have had more screen presense and was a massive achievement in terms of CGI but his motivation was just too stupid for me to really get behind.

AoU was where the kiddie stuff started to kick in. It went overboard with the jokes. Ultron is a villain that needs more setup than he got, he's hastily introduced and taken out in one movie. I also don't understand why Whedon killed off Quicksilver after Marvel worked so hard to get the rights back for him and Scarlet Witch.

It's a solid ground rule double where the other 3 are home runs. You think it's going out of the park, but it bounces over the wall instead. There's nothing wrong with a ground rule double, but a little disappointing when compared to the other home runs.

I'm pretty sure the deal at the time was Fox could use the character Quicksilver and Marvel could use Scarlet Witch. MCU had to kill off Quicksilver.

It's basically an A- film among A+ films.

Age of Ultron is undoubtedly the worst of the four and arguably the worst - or at the very least most disappointing - MCU movie. Such a letdown after the highs of the previous installment.
Whedon always struggled to write truly imposing villains and his need to have Ultron lighten up and deliver witty quips proved cringe-inducing. James Spader was the perfect voice actor for the role. If only he'd been allowed to play it straight.
As far as the Avengers themselves were concerned, I grew tired of the constant sniping and tension between them. I know things were ultimately headed to Civil War, but I wish Whedon had just allowed them behave like close pals for once before things went to hell in the next feature.
The movie dragged a lot in the middle and I found some of the subplots profoundly uninteresting. Moreover, the CGI battle in the third act felt like an unimaginative and joyless echo of the Battle of New York.
Overall, truly a lacklustre entry in the franchise with few redeeming characteristics.

It's better than the first one. I agree with this based on which I would rather watch, and I'd rather watch Ultron 10 out of 10 times.

Out of the four Avengers movies, three of them have received vast praise and then there was Age of Ultron which I think people did like but now it seems to clearly stick out as being the weak link of the series. Do you think Age of Ultron is actually the worst of the four? I'd say it was, I dunno it didn't seem to click in the same way. It did have the best trailer though. Age of Ultron and Civil War are super-bad. Not on the same level of "superbadness" of the Thor and the Ant-Man movies, however.

All four of them are exceptionally well put together superhero action movies. Age of Ultron MIGHT be the weakest amongst a set of great films. I'd put AoU slightly ahead of Endgame personally (but I know that is an extremely unpopular opinion).

1. Age of Ultron A+2. Infinity War A3. The Avengers A4. Endgame AWhat can I say, I'm a sucker for cinematic journeys over payoffs. IW has more Brolin/Thanos than EG. The Avengers has Loki & Fury. EG while excellent just feels the safest. 1. Ultron 2. Infinity 3. Endgame 4. Avengers ...I feel like the team intros, & bonding development aren't as fresh with re-watches. Still great, just too familiar now.

Why does this site still not have a thumbs down option? There is an ignore option apparently, but what fun is that? What would ignoring a person do in that situation? Seeing that a person hit the thumbs down button has an impact on what that person said in that post. I mean I guess I could start quoting posts and putting a picture of a thumbs down. But even that isn't the same because it's not on their post like when it says a person liked your post.
