Because religious people are brainwashed to believe what those in power in their religion tell them, they find anything sexual or sensual, disconcerting.
Back in the bad old days(before contraception and condoms to alleviate problems of STDs and unwanted pregnancies) the ONLY way to curtail natural sexual activity was with guilt and shame. It also served the purpose of giving a man a reasonable chance of knowing who his actual biological children were, due to the way the restrictions were mainly place on women. Men, could, and did sire bastards out of wedlock with 'gay' abandon with a beautiful double standard going on here.
Modern religion is still reeling, and in less modern countries restrictions on women go even further ie Muslim burquas, female circumcision in Africa etc so that what was one a harmful activity ( ie sex outside of marriage) could be maintained in a society where the actual problems of sexual activity had somewhat been solve.
The result is pornography....every man's dream and few women's.
Most of us just want a decent bloke to love us and have good monogamous sex, be faithful and raise our kids together with love.
Simple. Porn may even help for the randier males.

If your talking about Christianity in relation to porn, then porn is CLEARLY wrong! ; porn is a sin and a serious one at that according to the Catholic church and they are the authority on such matters. God (i.e. The Holy Trinity (Father/Son(Jesus Christ)/Holy Spirit)) is against porn. period. this is unchangeable truth.
porn is a problem for society as it should be eradicated. but since people are people, this is not going to happen because it takes advantage (basically exploits) of our sexual desire. porn is one of the easiest ways for people to fall into serious sin (potentially (I say potentially because while porn and the like is objectively serious sin, it's not guaranteed a person will truly be in a state of mortal sin as there are three things required for one to cross that line, but I won't get into this for now. but either way, it's not something you want to roll-the-dice on.)) and if a person dies in a state of mortal sin, hell awaits them.
I don't know if your a Christian, but if you are, you can't support porn as it's a clear cut sin (and a serious one at that). it's lust as here is a quote from the bible which should help sum things up...
"but I [Jesus Christ] say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart." - Matthew 5:28
so if just looking at a women with lustful thoughts in ones heart is a problem, it's pretty easy to see porn is going to be that much worse.
p.s. here is some wise advice... those who struggle with lust, pray The Holy Rosary daily!

How so? In many circumstances it is not adultery, rape, murder, even homosexuality...despite the fact that I don't believe in sin....what is essentially wrong with sexuality and pornography that harms no one?
